Hey Mudda I recommend only 32Gi ad due to it's isotonic properties u are providing your body constantly needed ekectrolytes for proper hydration also a constant energy supply with the slow glucose feed you cannot overdose on it. If you wanted one bottle of water with it I would reccommend a more concentrated drink of 32Gi to ensure proper feed.

Hi, do you know of any shops in Cape Town that stocks them. I am desperate as i need them before the DC. I have tried them before hence the urgency.

Hi swsup97, great to hear, the new chews have just been launched, we are rolling out to our stockists this week, which bike or supplement shop do you usually go to, I will ensure they have some for you and let them know you are coming.

Hey,

These chews are they also the low GI type? or are they similar to e.g. the energade jellies?

Would one use the chews towards eg the end of a race for a boost

@Madog plenty of shops in Cape Town stock 32Gi go to our website www.32gi.com and you can checkout the stockist list to see which is nearest you

@skyw

The new chews have a higher GI than the drink testing shows around 50 which is a really nice level bordering on intermediate. They can be eaten before and during the race and won't spike you. They compliment the drink very well.

I used a sample pack I got from Ronelle during a 3hour tempo ride. My findings are, it taste really nice but it's not better or worse then the stuff I'm now using.

I have now read the entire thread on 32gi and I am still soo confused. Specifically, I am confused about the Dosage and the sustained energy for 2 hours?? For example, I am doing Die Burger next weekend, 98km, probably going to be VERY hot and quite a taxing ride. I aim to do this in 3:10. Would I then ride with one bottle of 32GI and 1 Water? or 2 32GI and have a quick water stop to fill bottle at the 60odd km mark??

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated..

1 water and 1 32GI. You would have finished a bottle of 32GI before the race so there is your 1st 2 hours of energy. Then you use the water for the next hour and then change over to the 32GI again to fuel you for the next 2 hours although you still got an hour "left" from the pre-race bottle..

Thanks Mampara. That really helps a lot. Not having to stop for top up of water should save me that extra 1 min :P Would that be sufficient hydration though?

That's how I roll (always wanted to say that) even on my 4-5 hour rides.

Just my humble opinion, I am hooked on Epic pro. never used such a good product, has anyone used both and can compare? Dont want change without a resonable comparison and like I said Epic Pro is the best I have ever used, I do actually recover on the bike! Simple thought would be why change, but I dont want to be driving a Golf GTI thinking its a great car but not knowing there is a Ferrari out there!

Just want to explain what will happen if you do mix the two together so you understand :-) as we do have a lot of customers using 1 bottle 32Gi and 1 bottle of another product such as Cytogen, Cytomax USN etc.

The one product is high GI the 32Gi is low GI, so basically when taking in the high GI product 32Gi will prevent your sugar levels from dipping too quickly as it will assist in the taper. It basically increases the glyceamic load with the two combined and lowers the spike. Remember one thing though, you should either alternate drinking between the two bottles, starting with the 32Gi product first and definitely using 32Gi pre-race not the higher GI product. Thats one way, the other is to use up the 32Gi first on its own and then hit the higher GI product for the kick to the finish. Whatever you do dont take the high GI product first and then later on use the 32Gi, it must be alternated or had first.

just one more thing, taking in a high GI product in a ride, means you dont have that ability to utilise your fat stores, the brain aint so stupid, it will tell the body to take the readily available glucose no need to try and metabolise fat so that option has been pushed aside, which I think is a pity, so my preference would be to hold off the sugar until later on in the ride or race.

all the best

I used then the weekend and they sure are nice. But it is a shlep getting them out of the packet at 35km/h. Can't you make it into a squeezy that looks like the sticks of dry wors or cabanosi you buy at the garages.
