32GI

I supplement it with the 32Gi chews, which have a much higher GI than the drink, but that also allow for stability as they dont have such a big blood glucose spike.

Thanks Mark, this info is most helpful.

Last question - on an endurance race of say 5 hours, how often between drinking 32GI would you supplement with the 32GI chews?

For 5 hours I would take 3 packets of chews with me to make sure i am covered. I generally eat 1 block every 20-30 minutes to keep my levels topped up, it works like a bomb. I only starting eating them around 40 minutes into the ride as my pre-training mail will cover me in the beginning.

MDW I need some advice! I want to try 32GI but I have a few questions

1. Is 32GI effective to use for someone trying to loose some weight? I want to cut all energy drinks/boosters out.

2. Will it be useful to train with 32GI too, and not just use it on race days?

3. How do you carbo load with 32GI the days leading to a race and on race day?

4. Is there an advantage to use 32GI for races of only about an hour? Or is it more advantageous on longer races?

5. I always feel terrible after a training session - with no energy for the rest of the day. Will 32GI help with that?

6. What is a good pre and post training meal?

Thanks!

1. Is 32GI effective to use for someone trying to loose some weight? I want to cut all energy drinks/boosters out.

The answer to this is very simple, WATER is best but for your longer rides say 90minutes upwards then 32Gi is the next best thing for keeping your weight under control. It will also allow u to tap your fat stores due to the insulin spike on this product.

2. Will it be useful to train with 32GI too, and not just use it on race days?

Very useful to train with BUT again, water is best until u hit longer rides, 90min or more, unless u r trained to go longer, I do up to 2 hours on water, but my pre training meal is solid.

3. How do you carbo load with 32GI the days leading to a race and on race day?

2-3 bottle s a day 2-3 days before an event, however depends on the event. For a half Ironman I only take in 2 bottles a day 2 days before.

4. Is there an advantage to use 32GI for races of only about an hour? Or is it more advantageous on longer races?

Its definitely advantageous for short races, reason being is that it will prevent post exercise glycemia. Meaning for a race of an hour u dont really need a massive sugar boost, your glycogen stores will provide you all the energy u need. The 32Gi though due to its long release, will keep your sugar levels stable even after the race preventing intake of excessive calories and keeping u stable.

5. I always feel terrible after a training session - with no energy for the rest of the day. Will 32GI help with that?

Yes, see above, BUT what pre training and post training (recovery) meals r u taking this is more important than the supplement.

6. What is a good pre and post training meal?

OK, only saw this now.

Pre-training: A low GI meal is good, something easy on the system I generally go with low GI toast and apricot jam, Future Life, Pro Nutro, Morvite, Oats, etc. Toast is my number one its easy and convenient.

Post: Protein Isolate recovery, BUT I go for a 80-90% protein isolate and 10-20% Maltodextrin combo, not the other way around. I eat natural foods after that to replenish me. So protein immediately after, and then I eat my breakfast later on, which is usually oats, fruit and yoghurt.

Thanks!

Hi

I just got some 32Gi and would like to know whether provita and jungle energy bars would work well for a race like the 1tonner? Would you recommend using the provitas as an early race food and then move onto the jungle energy bars later on in the race?

i am fortunate to be part of a team sponsored by 32GI and i have to say this is the best product i have used. we were previoulsy on USN and i was going through aLOT of product to gain the same level of energy sustained.

Last week i raced the Karoo to Coast and one bottle filled with 32 GI and a sachet i mixed in with water in the last half. and breakfast was not exactly ideal... this stuff dragged me through

To be honest Deneyed, both are not great provitas are so difficult to get down while doing exercise and the dryness is not the best for the mouth, also jungle oats bars just melt get mushy and spike you. Look for convenient food, if its natural food u r looking for rather bananas, if its a energy bar go with something thats easy to chew and does not get stuck in the mouth, or my most obvious choice would be the 32Gi chews, 1 packet = 2 bananas, no mess no fuss and u can leave them out the packaging ;-)

Why don't you guys make a 32GI refill pack, for a bit cheaper?

To be totally honest with you, it wont be that much cheaper the tubs and labels cost is really insignificant, the product itself uses expensive ingredients, but you are getting bang for your buck.

We are launching 2 additions to the range very shortly, stay tuned :-), its a must have.

Hi i tried out the 32 gi chews over the weekend , no problems with energy levels had a great ride and felt great afterwards. The only thing for me was the texture of the chews felt a bit strange,my wife tried one and said it felt like she was chewing skin. So to make it go down easier i stuck a block against the top part of my mouth and sucked on it,until it was easier to swallow.

also I just want to know if I can use the 32gi drink after an event to rehidrate and recover
