Jaco no need for anything else then' date=' 32Gi can easily sustain you in a race for that period of time. Taking only the energy drink will improve your performance, and keep your energy levels sustained throughout, if you wanted a boost at the very end say last 30 minutes or so, you could always pump in some caffeine and glucose, but its not a must. [/quote']

I would not feel comfortable only using the 32gi during the race with nothing consumed beforehand. Maybe opt for a serving of 32gi 1.5hrs before race as well as a pre race meal. Remember that these races are in the mornings so i would wake on a empty stomach

Hi Jaco, misunderstanding, I did not mean skip your pre-race meal definitely eat a pre-race meal always, after that 32Gi from pre-race till finish.

In response to Spurzzz comment.

Firstly I never denied being involved with 32Gi, I am involved with them. Secondly, our results speak for themselves, we have 17 professional athletes using our product, including 5 comrades marathon winners, Powerman winners, and some really elite athletes who have recently achieved amazing results over the past few months and this is all public knowledge. Today we had kiddies Ironman in Port Elizabeth, the winner was a child using 32Gi and todays Spar Bruintjieshoogte Ultra 50km marathon was won by Lindsay van Aswegen who broke the 14 year old course record on 32Gi. As for a rat, not at all, we are out there promoting a different take in endurance fuel, proven abroad and a healthy option at that. We also offer a 30 day money back guarantee on the product if you are not happy at all, we believe in the product and the results are speaking for themselves, we have some serious events coming up this year with sponsored athletes and teams including the FIFA World Cup, we will keep you posted throughout the year.

Hi Wannabe, no such thing as a miracle product, I wish it existed. Ours is just an energy stabilizer, and it works very well. In Western Cape, Vladimir Kotov, Century City his shop is Kotovs corners, within the next few weeks we have several more stores coming online.

I did a 132km ride on sunday easy pace 5 hours on the bike smiley1.gif , all I had the whole ride was 32GI , I ate a low GI breakfast , mixed up 500ml of 32GI 1/2 an hour before the ride , drank it and off i went , I also had 2x 750ml bottles with 32GI in both.

I was expecting to eventually "bonk" but to my surprise I did not and arrived home with 1/3 of a bottle of 32GI left , and was not hungry the whole ride , I was amazed smiley20.gif When I got home I had to force down my recovery drink , in most cases when not using 32GI I raid the fridge.

Yesterday went out did the same morning routine as sunday , did 96km in the cold and wet , on 1 750ml bottle of 32GI and about 1/4 of the second bottle , had the same feeling as sunday when I got home ...not hungrysmiley4.gif

You got to try it to believe it .

I did not take in any Bars or Gels on my rides either , just the drink.

i bought a bottle at Springbok yesterday and was actually well surprised when i saw that you only use 2 scoops ber 500-750ml i did see on the label that theres actually very little carbs in the recommended 50g and no protein? i'm all for trying new products but i would just like to know the science of where the energy is coming from in this product.

i bought the orange and tried it out before a run yesterday it wasnt long enough to see any results but it tastes good

That 50g actually has 47g carbs, so it is almost just carbs.

I could not do my 130km ride as planned because I've got a upper respiratory infection that I need to get rid off before Saturday's Honda Trophy. I will try it there.

Did the Wine2Whales the weekend with 32GI,

Mixed 5 scoops in 2litres of water and finished it during the race.

Day 1

had a small - medium bowl of Prounutro WholeGrain before the race at 5:30 AM, had 250 ml 30 minutes before the rides (start 8AM) Riding in the Fast Bunch, in 1st half of the race I felt energy dips and couldn't keep up with the fast group, at the 2nd waterpoint I ate a mulebars (free at the waterpoints) and felt fine after that. Could ride full speed again. After eating the Mulebars I felt great, wasn't hungry after the ride.

Had pasta the the Evening.

Ride time was about 4 hours:50. Got lost and ended up doing an extra 30 minutes.

Day 2

Mixed 5 scoops in 2litres of water and finished it during the race.

Had a big bowl of Pronutro Wholegrain, and ate mule bars through out the race, felt great and could keep it with the fast group riding my 5" travel DS bike. After the race I ate 100 grams of kudu biltong, had a milk smoothie, and mixed 4 scoops into 1.5 litre water, cycled back to Grabouw on the tar (another 45km), still felt fine. Only used about half of the mix.

Ride Time : 4 hours

Riding back to Grabouw : 2:10

Total : 6:10

Think the product works well, but you still need a big breakfast before racing / riding. . Should be great for the DC, but I need extra carbs when riding MTB.

Must say the peach flavour is the best taste of all energy drinks I've tasted so far.

Product is fine for racing, but the AJ Mix is still the best value for money energy drink out there and will stick to it for short distance races and training.

Hi all

@faceplant

Thats correct we opted for no protein, most athletes like to add their own, each has a preference whether its a protein bar or protein peptide etc, we focus on the drink. Also u can make the drink and store for days without it going off the minute u add protein, your drink will be off within 12 hours. We use a specific carbohydrate very different from any other, it digests over a long period of time, releasing glucose slowly into the bloodstream. The balance of the energy comes from fat oxidation 28% more than its nearest carbohydrate so the two supplies give you the energy. I need to make clear there is no issues taking in a protein bar with the drink, it can only compliment.

@Robotech - kotovs Corner's number is Tel: 021 551 7785

@Knersis - thanks for the feedback, agree that a pre-race meal is always needed, energy drink or not its important.

For all of you, we had about 112 athletes in Ironman using our product, the feedback was incredible, after the event we had competitors coming back to our stand to buy more product and tell us of their experiences, we will be posting this on our FB site in the coming weeks.

@Robotech, hi there, we have several other shops lined up with our Cape Town distributor and product has not reached them yet, we sent shipment on Friday last week. Once these stores have the product I will release the names.

@faceplant, 1000%, no protein additive would impact the drink effects, even low GI powerbars. The only thing that impacts a slow glucose release is taking in a high glucose release such as a maltodextrin based carb. I have some athletes that add carnatine as an additional fat transporter.
