Thanks, do you know if there is a new Endomondo challenge up yet? I'm sure this year we can beat the 41000km's

Tomorrow is the start of the 2015 commuting season for me. It ends on 15 Dec 2015 :)

21km each way, 3x a week. Time to save petrol money and get in to shape for the MTB race season.

First 2015 commute this morning. Wow, Slaapstad sure sleeps late this time of year! Traffic was a pleasure!

I had my bike ready for the commute for my first day back at work today. Unfortunately or fortunately (depends on which way you look at it :) ) my body took quite a beating on my Mountain Uni ride in Jonkers yesterday. Damn it was hot up there. Really paid tax in the heat. Note to self: if you're going to climb to the top of the single tracks, take much more water !!

Tomorrow is it though, time to get the commute going

And today I re-learned how much difference a stiff headwind can make.

I had a mild tail wind this morning. About 5km into the commute in 23'C I wished the wind would turn.

An Israeli inventor has developed the world’s first cardboard bicycle from recycled materials. The bike is resistant to rain and sun, and costs around R100 each. Wonder what it'd be like as a commuter?

You're not kidding! Even the m5/n2 interchange was flowing freely!

First commute ride of the year ... tick  :)

The Mountain Uni ride I did on Tuesday showed me how much I was slacking on the bike at the end of last year. Today's ride I kept my heart rate and output more in line with my MUni riding (not quite fully, but close enough), and rode so much faster and easier despite my legs screaming at me still paying tax from Tuesday's ride
