Noneking Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 This seller posted in classifieds selling a Lexar SD Card. Selling price was R500 and after some negotiating, we agreed on R500 and the seller would pay postage which he quoted at R60. I paid the full amount into his account on 2 September and forwarded proof of payment. I also gave him my email address and asked him to send a tracking number. This was when trouble started. I tried to contact him to get tracking number, but wasn't successful. At first he didn't reply to may PM's, e-mails or even sms's and phonecalls, but later (4days) sent message to let me know that SD card has been sent, but that he didn't get a tracking nr as the item was too small. I have been hassling him ever since and the only thing that he could send was a cashier slip from post office for R25, no tracking nr??? This after quoting counter - to - counter rates and me requesting a tracking nr! It has now been 3 weeks and got this reply from him today:"ok well I sent you all the proof I had. So you either gave me the wrong address or it got lost in the post. I went back to the same post office the other day and they checked the slip and said it had arrived at your post office successfully."How can they know it has arrived if there is no tracking no? In the same breath he says I must have had the address wrong or it got lost in the post!!What would you guys do if confronted with this situation? I have all his details thanks to a public FACEBOOK page.

Bman Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 sounds like a bum seller man - when dealing with anybody on the hub make sure they have been on here a while as in joined a while ago and have active post accounts. Dont trust everyone - sorry this has happened to you
Noneking Posted September 26, 2011 Author Posted September 26, 2011 Yes they do. OP, has he sent you a scanned copy of this supposed slip yet? He sent me a photo that looks like it was taken with a cellphone. Just a receipt for normal postage, no tracking no. Could have been for anything....

He told me a whole heap of lies......I am still prepared to stand by my word. Be careful Hubbers, very careful. There seems to be a pattern here. I am not prepared to put up with crap like I got from this bloke. I paid up front, no questions and then the cheeky blighter tried his tricks. Thank goodness the Administrators helped out. I won't buy from somebody with a bad rating!!+1 - at first glance this oke looks like a legit hubber with some posts, friends, etc. but a few negative ratings would definitely put a stop to me buying from the guy.

That way they can be rated after their ad is removed to stop stuff like this happening. Will PM Admin.

Go to their profile page and click on the Marketplace tab on the right. Then click 'Add feedback for me'.
