for starters is your set up on the bike right?

if its wrong it could possibly lead to a sore knees?

R300 for a proper set up is well worth it if you ask me

Bike has been set up by Jeroen. Nothing has changed on the bike. It could have possibly been triggered by climbing in heavy gears. Have been on and off the bike. Everytime I get back on after a break the soreness starts again

Mainly on the left inner knee. Have been on anti inflammatories. Just when you think the pain is gone it comes back when getting on the bike

Try spinning at a higher cadence rather than grind away n the hills.

BTW. Who's Jeroen? Does he know his stuff?

I was having the same crap with my right knee. Raised the seat by half a cm today and the pain was gone during/after today's ride. Stiff & sore tho- finished the ride in freezing rain and wind

I have a similar problem. Bike was set up. I ride with a knee brace. Problem reduced :)...Sometimes it does creep in if after a few week break i ride to hard.

Same but now I spin instead of grinding and even if the pain doesn't go away it's better on your knees.

Rest and try and if no result then try see if your cleats are in the correct position.

I also one day went climbing and forced it and it lead to tears in my tendon which means that for the next 12 to 18 months I cannot ride hard. Only high cadence in low gears. If it is tendonitis/tendonosis as in my case then an MRI will show you the tears.

I've got a friend who has been struggling with his knee for the last 10/11 weeks. Did loads of cycling before, ran the Knysna Half, got back on the bike and it was sore. Went to physio, she could't help, went to well known knee docter, he gave a cortozone injection, nothing changed, he went for a MRI, didn't show anything, now he is stuck, he is trying to find another docter to go and see for second opinion. He has given the knee loads of rest and as soon as he feels anything hurting he turns around and stop cycling, well, that happens after the second corner leaving home, so if anybody knows about a good "knee docter" in Cape Town, please let me know.
