I vote Dunkeld start for the same reason Patches did. Can't wait till the 27th!!

I don't think we get a vote Mad. I think the new time and venue are set... so Braamfontien it is!

I also can't wait! I fly to out of the country this coming Saturday and if all goes well I'll be landing back here the morning of the 27th

The change to Braamfontein is not permanent - we are giving it a try. The fact is that as soon as we moved from town to Dunkeld, we got triple the numbers. This may have something to do with the fact that it wasn't raining or freezing cold, but I think the start venue is a big factor.

The down side with Dunkeld is that people who don't ride regularly suffer up the hills and slow everybody. And the ride is almost 30kms, and it takes an extra hour and a half.

We are trying Braamfontein because it gives us easy access to the city, it wont be as physically demanding, and heading into winter, it may be a better idea to have a shorter ride.

The guys at Juta have promised to sort out covered perking for about 30 cars, and then there is parking on the street in that area which is fine, I have done it a lot of times, even late at night, but you may have to pay 5 or 10 bucks to a car guard. And there is the new bar that sells hot dogs, which will be open I'm told, and Kitcheners is always open for a drink when we are done.

If it sucks, we either go back to Dunkeld or to town for winter.

Awesome thanks skidd!

As much as I love the ride and wouldn't mind if it lasted an extra 2hrs... I get that for some people it is long and becomes "not so fun anymore" at a certain point.

But dunkeld... braamfontien... wherever... I'm still amped!

I vote Dunkeld start... that way we can continue to cause a stir as we ride through Rosebank

its a public holiday...so not sure how much traffic stirring will be done..

Not a stir of vehicular traffic, but rabble-rousing as we pass the nino's restaurant and mall patrons

So shall we meet at Dunkeld at about 18:30 to be in town by 19:00 to meet the main bunch?

lets leave there at 18h15 to be safe. Right now its just me and you going from Dunkeld but if others join us it may be slower

Amped out of scull !!! Thanx Patchness for the bike ;)

Sure thing Jean-pant. I'm in Nigeria at the moment, but arrive back the day before the Mass. I'll chat to you then to see if it's easier for me to bring the bike with... or for you to borrow the bike a day earlier so you can wash and polish and lube it ;)
