And 'watch' out for the tiny springs inside... :D

Yeah...there's good reason why watch makers fixers work over a table, under a bright light and look at everything thru thick glasses.

It always pays to have a good look at the innerds of anything you remove some part from....BEFORE you remove it LOL

My wife took my polar to the guys in Midrand directly at the start of the week before Sabie Classic only to be told it’s going to take 12 WORKING days to change the battery. She was told they have 1000 units in the queue ahead of me and we have to wait.

When asked if we can try use it for the race this weekend and still keep my place in the queue, we were told no and would have to fill in a new form.

Pathetic service from Polar if you ask me. Convincing me more to move to Garmin.

Ummm...NO! A fellow hubber waited 3 months for is polar to return for replaced battery only for the speed sensor to die and need battery to be replaced = another looooong wait thumbdown.gif Good luck with that one.

it's the pressure testing of the gasket that allegedly takes the time, and is the reason why it's not meant to be user replaceable.

All horse manure of course. But thank goodness for the RCX5: battery officially user replaceable.

About.

Damn.

Time.

There's definitely something wrong with mine ... it starts beeping and squealing if I run more than 100 metres. So if anyone needs a spare chest strap and thingummyjig, PM me and I'll see if it's still lying around at home somewhere. Thing is, you'll have to collect it in Greenpoint or Observatory or somewhere in-between.

Plus, using Mac OS, I cannot analyze my rides as Polar does not have the software (yet). Tch!

Hi Guys and gals, I came across a company that stocks almost any battery if you have the number in the case of most polar watches(CR1632) they will post it to you if you are willing to do it yourself - www.batteryexperts.co.za

BAD SERVICE is when the owner cannot change his own battery, all this talk of warranty blah blah, be brave and just do it yourself.

No, that's simply having 10 thumbs.

If you meant "...may not change..." that is BAD PRODUCT

if the service itself was faulty, or took months to complete, THAT would be BAD SERVICE

(if it cost anarm&aleg, that would be EXPENSIVE SERVICE)
