Hey there,

My old Nike trail running shoes, ,went flat a while ago, so this weekend I bought myself a pair of the New Balance 411 All Terrain shoes. Still walking them in.

I only do one trail run per week (4km at the moment) and plan to eventually do 6 or 8km once a week, thats besides the normal MTB training.

The shoes feel very comfy, and certainly look if they'll be able to handle a trail or two.

Have any of you had experience with these? They came out in Jan of 2011.

Thanks!!

I have a pair of MT101 that I've been running in for about 6 months. Really nice pair of shoes for both road and off road use. I'm doing between 5 and 8 km twice a week, so not major mileage.

NB makes different widths - 2E is the wider one and then there's a 4D I think which is even wider.

Half sizes are to conform with EU sizes as I understand, nothing to do with width ie. I wear a 44EU in 2E width = 10US, 9.5UK.

Cool, thanks guys!

@slowbee: I normally take a size 10, but I know New Balance is a bit narrow for me, so ended up with a ten and half, and it fits perfect.

And for the price: R549-90 its not a bad shoe at all! Had a smiliar pair years back and can remember they lasted for about 3 years

New Balance do great trail shoes.

I took Carpet this weekend to get herself a pair of Minimus.

I love them.

But eish my calves are still pretty sore from the run.

Stay away from Adidas unless you are a 65kg runner.

My brother-in-law (comrades runners) also told me that. He said Adidas are for the lighter okes.

Its day two of me wearing the shoes in, and they feel aswesome. Will take them on their maiden voyage tomorrow evening.

I shopped around first and asked what shoe I should get for the intended purpose, and these were the best option for me. Then I shopped around for the best price, and got it at Tekkie Town (are we allowed to use these words here?)
