Henk Neuhoff, one of our top sales persons at CWCycles were involved in a robbing attempt last night. Henk , who is living in Somerset West travel by bike nearly every day to work and back. Last night he was on his way home and went via Kuilsrivier. As he approached Eerste Rivier / Firgrove two idiots walked next to the road and one jumped in front of him. As he pulled brakes the other idiot hit him with something over his head and tried to fled with his bike. Fortunately a person in a bakkie saw what was happening and came to his rescue and got his bike back as well.

Henk is in hospital and an operation was done on him this afternoon. Lets hope for a speedy recovery

Not good news, you see alot of cyclist doing that stretch alone...you would think being on a main road you are fairly safe, but these guys don't care anymore...

I'm from Kuilsriver and I only do Polka into Stellenbosch via Cloetesville/Kromrhee and back via Bottelary on my own, the rest is just to dodgy...

Eersteriver/Kayamandi areas are big no no areas...

Try to avoid that road if you can. I was held at gunpoint in that area a few years ago in broad daylight. Four guys - one with a gun - stepped into the road, forced me to stop, took my adidas eyewear and Polar and casually sauntered off towards the residential area next to the road.

Speedy recovery Henk!
