Anyone know which is most likely to happen?

Mine's done.

Now lets see if the name callers (or at least the one with the foul mouth aimed at me) will do the same?

Done mine too. Apologies for the name calling. I over reacted. Besides Suzi has a good sense of humour and will probably wash the whole incident down with a bottle of wine with the farmer soon.

As an aside issue to all the love, (and here is the assumption part), if the epic is indeed ending at said wine estate, and said person was training here, and did break the rules, should (can ?) he be banned from this years epic ?

Living the in the area, if the farmer plays hard bat, and stops all mtn bikers from using the land, I would sure like to see some harsh punishment on said mtn bike rider.

Morewoodmad will ask you to remove/edit the slur on Suzie's name (as he was called, it sound like a porn star) The kindergarten may read this fred and refuse his application.

The context - he jumped the fence at Lourensford after being turned away at the gate, he wanted to go over between Helderberg and Stellenboschberg. The farmer on the other side also would have caught him probably. I think he is lucky to just have been escorted out of Lourensford.

isnt their a rule that if they catch you on any of the epic routes that you get a permanent ban from the epic?

Sorry if this was already bought up in the thread

Where the hell did he jump the fence then? Did you try and enter by the labours entrance next to the boom gate or did go past Erenvale but that would have required him to trespass on the Nature Reserve which is a no cycling area?

EDIT: Actions like this get me as I'm miss cycling to the Coffee Company in Lourensford on Sunday mornings. I have to suffer because of the actions of others.

if you go up parel valley road and then go up the vineyards their is a road going around (to your left) and thats aove the nature reserve

What a storm in a tea cup!A polite phone call to the concerned farmer, prior to the ride, as well as a polite and engaging approach by the rider, could possibly have led to a healthier outcome for all parties, but no someone had to be a twat.

Silly Susi, not sure why he was expecting anyone's sympathy here, he's spent enough time in our woods to know what the deal is.

ahh, lets go and dig up these rules.

http://www.cape-epic.com/content.php?page_id=31&title=/Rules/

Rule 13.7

No rider shall trespass at any time of the year on land which is not open to the public for mountain biking and which forms part of the race route of any edition of the race, nor will any rider distribute any GPS co-ordinates in respect of the route at any time.

Rule and/or Offence

First Offence

Second Offence

Third Offence

Remarks

Section B - General Rules

Rule 13.7

DQ

lifetime ban from riding the race

okee dokee, so let's assume this is the first time that susi has ever trespassed on private land not used for mtb in any of the 7/8 epic routes. According to the rules he should be disqualified for the 2012 race? If he's been caught before then a lifetime ban is in order.

Of course this is pretty lame, and they would never dream of this. So the rest of us can basically just take the rules and wipe our butts with them, especially the folk who actually enter the race and pay their hard earned cash into the coffers.

Are we saying that the rules do not apply (I would ask what the point is of having such then), or just not equally to all?
