You can check the weather for the baviaans farming community on www.yr.no then do a search.

A week & 1 day to go!! Looks like my riding partner with a knee ailment is biting the bullet (having intensive physio - seems to be helping) and we still holding onto our 1st Trans Baviaans dream  In the event of him starting the race and his knee hampering him from continuing say after 100km,, what happens? I believe it is a case of me having to team up with someone else? Anyone had experience with this kinda thing happening??

See long term weather forecast not looking too bad for next week.....

You give him pain pills and walk for a while if it only hurts when he is on his bike.If the pain gets less ride again and repeat till finish. :whistling:

You can team up with someone else but I think it is not that easy finding someone willing to take you in.

Well I'm taking 2 pairs of sealskinz with, and I think I will take an extra 2 pairs of regular socks. If the river crossings are knee high, I don't see any socks preventing us from getting wet.

Sure, but with sealskinz, take them off to cross just in shoes and put on again to keep feet dry in-between crossings.

Thanks, we were actually discussing this last night, and how we were going to approach the river crossings. Are any of the crossings high enough to get our chamois's wet?

PM me if there are any takers, but as mentioned for now he still in it to win it but could change in next week.
