I have never felt unsafe at Thaba and I ride there at least twice a week during the day (sometimes around 12 and other times around 3).

Potter round the green on my SSR, it's a fair workout ;)

I have offered to chaperon Uni round before  :whistling:

Be careful of riding Blue on your own. If you come unstuck it might be the vultures who find you first. Take NSBB up on his offer. The man knows the place backwards, in the dark, without a light....

Hey NSBB, do you ride there on weekends? Would like to meet up for a ride sometime. I'm mostly there on Sunday mornings, start between 6 - 7.

I KNOW blue is out of my range if if takes you guys 2-3hrs I'll need 8.

Working my way through from green - slowly.

Someone described the climb on blue as feeling like you're going to flip over ... I'm quite happy to go struggle along on something easier.

Me and rocks have a hate hate relationship, started at Karkloof, it's gotten better since, until I encountered buffelsdrift. Thaba seems next best thing and closer to home to get over the mental block I have.

The Blue route is a lot harder/technical than Buffelsdrift, so be safe out there.

We rode at Thaba about three weeks ago on a Sunday Morning and they tried to steal a Jeep. Luckily didnt manage but they stole a couple of things out of the vehicle.

Would also be keen to join for a loop or two...

On weekends we tend to do longer 'out rides' so not really, sorry man.

I ride at both locations. When I feel like working on speed, I go Rievlei. If I feel like working on stamina, I go to Thaba. And for even more training I ride on my bike to either of the locations.

Now since I discovered Parkrun, I will now be riding to Rievlei, doing the Parkrun, riding the Green route at Rievlei (maybe twice), enjoy a double espresso and get back on the bike to head home.

A full pace lap at rv is great cardio workout. agreed thaba builds stamina, strength & resolve. I find myself talking to myself a lot more often at thaba than at rv ????
