Okay, guys, this thread has had a decent, jovial tone - mostly - please keep it that way.

thanks for editing my post by the way. Rather just delete the post than put word in my mouth next time.

This is pointless, coz I have seen DH riders riding lycra on tracks like Champery and Schladming doing some of the maddest tracks ever and then the guys at the Cape Epic also in lycra doing long endurance rides on short travel bikes!

Always wondered about the skinsuits at DH World Champs...

I am with you on the all white lycra pant.

Your serious question, well can't answer that but I can assure you that I wouldn't want to wear flapping pants and shirts on 130 km. races.

Exactly, dragging around 2-3 litres of sweat retained in your clothing can't be fun, never mind the aerodynamic disadvantage.

Anton, I think you should invite rob-the-nob on something like the Attakwas, or maybe the Cape Pioneer and see how he goes? You should finish in the top 5, seeing that it is piss-easy, according to him...

That would be a great plan

He just strikes me as a little argue-making machine in any case .

Then, I'd also use google to look up terms like "oxymoron" before you just assume a person would insult you. Ok bye

Hey Rob, if this thread has insulted you, take advice from this oke.

I see a common trend on the forum.

People get all worked up because they actually read only what they want to, so end up skimming over much else and then take immediate offense.

But I think most will understand the crux of the thread, it's not to start an argument but rather to try and determine why we always have to feel the need to segregate ourselves from one another.

We all mountainbike, we are all tough .

So tough you wear your clothes out from the inside! Skin suits used to be compulsory at the DH world champs. Now they are banned. The UCI can't make up its mind. There is actually quite a debate in top DH circles overseas about skinsuits. Its all about image vs performance , or go fast but look gay.
