Woke up this morning to find that our German Shepherd is missing. No holes in fence etc, but found that the front gate had been forced open. My only conclusion is that He's been stolen.

Spent the morning till now looking for him but - nothing. Family is very upset as you can imagine!!!

Who would do something like this ?!!!!AngryAngryAngry

Cancelled appointments and going out to look again now although it looks like a theft situation so not much hope.

Hey RC I hope you find your much loved companion, if you find the sod who did take him/her please castrate with a blunt machette. As far as I am concerned pet theft should be a capital offence.

I like dogs but perhaps there's an alterior motive................. Force open front gate, steal dog. Know the gate won't be fixed by xmas and there won't be a dog either ............. great opportunity to comeback and ransack the house.

Be careful and remember thieves these days prefer robbing a house when the occupants are there to help them tell them where the valuables are.

Man, that's just unbelievable. Are we supposed to install tracking devices on our pets now as well. This place we live in is just getting a bit too much for me.

I really hope you find your dog, and i hope the thief gets mauled by your Alsation.

Terribly sorry to hear that racman!!!

How old is he? You find that often with puppies. My brother's husky puppy was stolen a couple of years ago. Very sad.

Phone the local vets, spca's and shelters and leave your details with them, the poeple might decide otherwise in a couple of days or a month and then he might turn up!

Good luck!

Thats very sad...they are family.

But that was a valid point about them possibly coming back to a dog free house...all the best and I hope your pal is returned for Xmas.

Thx guys - The Dog (Tommy) is an extremely good natured male GSD and is also highly pedigreed. We've had him for 8 years now so is not a young dog. Stay in Somerset West, alerted SPCA, Animal Welfare and all Vets in area as well. Has the Chip ID implant as well (but not tracking)racman2007-12-24 10:17:59

Sorry to hear! I have been there as well, had my Bull terrier from a very respectable bloodline stolen when she was 3 months old. I practically turned the neighbouthood around, got a lot of leads, found the guys in a township outside Pretoria, had them arrested and even with a witness could not get a conviction and never saw my dog again. This was in 2003 and I have only now been able to replace her, good luck with finding your pet.

Holding Thumbs for you racman.

We are considering Emigrating to Chile next year for a job opportunity. If we can't take the dogs, we don't go - simple.

Good Luck, we hope everything works out.
