Very quirky start to one of my favourite sports journalists, Tony Johnson's blog:

I was left to my own devices over the Easter weekend.

She Who Must Be Obeyed took one look at my schedule and declared that she and the Blond Tornado were off to visit Grandma in Tauranga, taking MY car, if you don’t mind, leaving me with the Sensible Family Wagon, a bag of very small Easter eggs, and Alfredo Garcia, the Worlds Worst Cat, for company.

It’s fun for a while, being able to leave your clothes and bath towels on the floor, eating sausages and fried eggs for dinner and watching lots of sport with the sound turned up very loud, but things took a turn for the worse around 3:58am Sunday when the WWC started doing backflips in the bedroom and I had to get up and let him out of the house.

Startled out of my blissful slumber, I thought I would turn on the TV and watch a bit of the Sharks-Crusaders game. Bad move.

Agree - Tony is one of the best rugby journalists - miss him on that NZ rugby show - must now listen to Jeff Wilson

I was born and educated in KZN but have lived in Joburg since 1994. Lions supporter now. Well pleased with that result.

Yeah Lions were clearly the better side. Sharks possesses arguably the best backline in SA but they're playing such negative rugby it's actually hard to watch them play. This speaking as someone who has generally supported them as my 'other' team besides the Stormers.

If the Lions can start winning some home games they'd be in the quarter's for sure.
