England were up against it last week and came through.

The concern is losing possession rather than having it and not going anywhere with it.

Not having possession means more tackles to be made, this can be very energy consuming.

Of course, hats off to Ireland - they made a game (and series) of it. They came here to win the series.

There we go. To prevent the Bokke giving penalties away, they competed less at the breakdown, so Ireland have a lot of possession as a result.

Apparently, 31% possession by the Boks

Against a big beast like NZ, that'll be fatal

Two wins, another 2 games against Argentina before the tests against NZ and Aus.

As Nick (Mallet) says, the confidence gained by winning 4 in a row will do so much for the team heading into the test down under.

32% for possession and 23% for territory. England has similar stats against Aus in the second test and pulled through. It's often not what you have but how well you use what you have. Ireland created two additional try scoring opportunities which they failed to convert and one other half chance to that didn't go their way, largely to a solid defensive effort by the Boks. The Boks passing was better than the visitors getting an offload every 15 passes as opposed to the Irish getting an offload every 25 passes. The thing is, you can only get away with such efforts every so often and not each match. So yes more improvement required but at least we are starting to move in the right direction performance-wise.

Yip, lots of building do too still to become the formidable Boks again

So far, tough lessons learnt and lots of potential to unfold

The Kiwis will murder us. Easy as that.

We battled to win againt Ireland.

I repeat THE IRISH.

We should have destroyed then in a home series.

Shocking.

We waited for them.

We waited for everything to happen. We played like te stormers did in 2007(almost), you would not score against them but no worries they will also not score.

It was sad and boring to watch that. We have a huge problem and politics is not half of it!

Let's not forget that we haven't gone from being world beaters to the position we find ourselves currently in over night. We were 2nd in June 2015 and dropped as low as 6th while Ireland have also gone up and down.

Sure, we should never be losing to Iteland, but we also lost to Argentina and Japan, under the previous coach. Should England be beating Aus? No, but it happened (x3).

We find ourselves in a position where instead of thumping any home nation we struggle to beat them.

Go and have a look at the rankings and you'll see that NZ are way out front, with positions 2-4 changing between Aus, Eng and SA. In fact the top 6 are spread by less points than the difference between 1st and 2nd.

SA needs to rebuild to secure 2nd spot and ensure we remain there until the gap to 1st is worth competing for. Until that happens, we should expect "below par performances". Sure, politics doesn't make it easy but this team has the ability to win games.

World rankings...

Willie - was lucky not to be red carded????

Please replace! ????M

And, yes.

Can we search for another captain too ????

On the captain, he probably not the best but he is captain for a reason, so he somewhere showed some leadership skills. Not listening to the Dr to come for a concussion test was poor form and a bad example and for the Dr not to stand by his point any tell ref get this guy off is rather odd!

I did not like Jake White as a person but he was good. He would have brought John Smith back on for the last 5minutes to steer the ship, what did AC do? Replace your captain with 2minutes to go with the Irish going for a try with an uncapped player! If you have so little faith in your captain why did you even thought of him being there?
