I feel sorry for the Sharks. They are not my team, but you can see there is Big Problems at that union...

When Jake left we all knew then already that something's up. Somehow think that John Smit ain't the easiest guy to work for.

I saw an article on news24 that claims 45 more players will head out of SA after Super Rugby. Half the Lions and Kings teams lots of Bulls, too. That would bring the foreign based players to about 350 in number - that is more than 20 teams worth. This lowers the standard of the domestic game a lot. - it is the biggest problem facing our rugby (and cricket) at the moment.

Nah, Lions have already signed most of their players. Losing only Mostert and boshoff permanently. Quite a few of them play in Japan during the cc but return again for Super rugby next year. Sharks are losing quite a few of their "star" players though.

So as things stand now the Lions will play the Sharks AGAIN in the quarterfinal. This I don't like, as comprehensive as the Lion wins over the sharks have been, I just get this feeling they will trip us up come playoff time..

Mntboy - "Somehow think that John Smit ain't (wasn't) the easiest guy to work for." or the brightest looking at the sharkies. Comes across as a bit of an arrogant pr1ck in mtb races where I've encountered him.

I have the same impression and I've never met him personally. I suppose he is still hung up on his success as a player and I think this is affecting his judgement.

Is there a reference to how the quarter finals are structured?

Lions ran riot tonight. Flipping cold in the stadium.

Crusaders are running rampant too against the Rebels! Rebels look like they are going to concede a century here!
