Cry me a river, the Kings played against the top teams while the Lions were left to make their own way during the season, even making up their own league. Logic states then that the Kings should have given the Lions a walloping, something that did not happen. How is it that the Lions make do with scarps and still beat the Kings.

Making their own league shows Lions commitment to returning, what are the chances the Kings will do similar, little, fat, none.

Super Rugby should be top 3 teams from each country playing home and away. How they scrap it out is up to them.

Probably a damn good idea, but season is still too damn long. All they've done by increasing the tournament is push it to the point of becoming pointless. The thinking is more games, more revenue.

I reckon you go IPL style. tournament is proper franchise based. starts in feb ends in june.

You can run vodacom cup in the background, then move onto test matches and quad nations.

and then have a proper currie cup.

ag whatever, kings have taken it on the chin - despite definitely getting the kakker deal. This time last year the the GLRU challenged stellenbosch as the country's top whine region.

Hang on Shebeen. My thought is that the Kings were always just a vehicle to transfer SARU loot to the Watsons. I read an article that indicated that around 50% of the budget went to them. But I think rugby in SA is only staggering along with too many dof connected and just dof people (see Bulls vs Brumbies) scrambling for handouts for themselves without a care for the game, almost at all. From going to a good number of matches, including the big ticket ones I occasionally watch a few minutes on TV.

Certainly sounds like they took it on the chin, whats interesting is his transforming statement, his team was more lily white than all other teams.

“I think it is an absolute disgrace that we are not in Super Rugby and if we are interested in truly transforming this game the Eastern Cape has to be there,” Solomons said.

“We need some leadership here and leadership has got to decide what they want to do about South African rugby. Do they want to move it on or do we want to stay where we were prior to 1994?”

Fourie Du Preez back in Bos side, what do you thibk of it? I think it is a very shrewd move to bring some brains back into the team. Pity he is only here for the home tests!

I think it is awesome. He was a great no.9 and does very well at reading a game. I think his experience in the squad will be great for the youngsters coming thru

Some say that transformation is not only about the colour of the team but what they did for the spectators as well as inspiring youngsters to play rugby. I can really vouch for what they did for the spectators as we all saw what happened in that lekke barney they had on the stands when somebody took a video of the fight...... go lekke Despatch and the blue collar oukies!!!!!!!!

You really don't have a clue. When you are given 6 months to get a super rugby squad together, are you supposed to go to the tree that black rugby players grow on and pick them? I was also surprised initially to see how their transformation stance didn't reflect on the team sheet, but since year one was all about performance you can't throw any old player to the wolves just for window dressing. we've moved on from the khaya molotana days.

Find of the season undoubtedly came from the kings. this time last year he was studying for matric.

um, I don't know about that, there's a lot of *** written on this subject - is there proof? Would have to see what sort of package cheeky is on, but I don't think he's the money grabbing type. Luke is on quite big contract, but it's a fraction of what he was earning as Bath captain. I suppose this is the bit where the khakhi brigade jumps and and goes all news24 comment section on 'puke'.

I just want to know if the lions will still attend the stadium next year after the lions first 3 losses

Lions fans are not known for filling Ellis Park so i doubt it.

Kings transformation, load of bollocks, they even tried to get the oversees player quota increased, their team was less reprentitive that the other Super Rugby teams.
