How long are they going to take to fix the main road? its been over 3 years now! Can some in CT post a photo of what they are doing on the road?

They are building an eight lane flyover that bypasses the Deep South and offers an overland alternative for polar explorers. As a local resident I can assure you this is the only logical explanation.

You could wish.......btw how you lot have put up with that bsh*t for 3 years I do not know. Its probably more

Cape roads are a disaster.Look at that Blue Route stopping dead.

I don't mind the road works so much, it's the random power, phone and water outages that have become tiresome. Nothing like a fridge full of food going off and an online business that has ground to a halt.

Latest projected completion date is about 18 months away, so expect at least 3 more boyes drive arguses - based on the historical accuracy of these estimates.

Whats wrong with a Boyes Drive argus anyway.Adds some hills to the race which is good cause they cut out Slangkop.Prob just as well because that one corner is deadly

I was told that because there is nowhere to place / lay new utility lines (water / electricity / telkom/ etc) because of the area being build up to the sea shore, they are laying it under the new road. That is why the existing road is being dug up, the new utility lines being installed and then the new road laid over it. This is a very laborious and tedious task, that's why it is taking so long to complete.

Hey I enjoyed the original 104 km Argus route, the detour over ou kaapse when Chappies was closed and now Boyes Drive just adds to making it a fantastic tour.

In fact I think they should skip out the main road in future. Those residents used to complain when they closed the road for the Argus, then for the Two oceans and for the remainder of the year they gripe about all the rush hour traffic.

Blue route was supposed to join up with Boyes Drive but those golfers complained, thats why the road ends like it does. Check out the golf course when you ride your next Argus.

The Kalk Bay end of Boyes drive, just before that steep decent, was meant to go through a tunnel and come out at the Clovelly trafic light / Silvermine river, but the residents complained.

Not sure why the flyovers in the city centre were not completed, I guess someone complained. I guess that about sums up Capetonians, I read about R 60 being expensive for funrides.
