Guess it is time to unveil ths babe magnet. IMO, the first mountain bike looking mountain bike with road bike wheels.

That looks like Maestro linkages?

Double-D, my man, have another look at those 2 bikes there. Giant is nothing like the Spez.

The dynamics of frame manufacture will dictate that all bikes have similarities in design. Front triangle, rear triangle. Add 29er to the mix, and in order to get a low standover height together with longer travel, you will have those same lines on pretty much any FS 29er.

Also, the rear triangles are totally different. Giant has elected to have the shock mounted to an extension of the swingarm, whereas Spez have latched it onto the middle (well, almost) section of a linkage bar.

What I find most interesting is that Giant have done away with the MAESTRO suspension design for their Trance 29er... intriguing...

Cap'n, the top bike shown by Danger Dassie is an Ibis Ripley using the DW link system. So don't fret... there's still maestro for the Giant ;)

Can I be the first to say the Ripley ain't no looker...

haha! as an Ibis owner yes, you are qualified to say that! Compared to the Mojo it looks rather "generic"

yeah. That transition looks good. 130mm on a 29er - the start of a trail / AM style 29er revolution. Still a bit lacking for the big AM stuff, I think, but getting there.

fine for our trails though?

I think MY personal worry would be wheels - I weigh 115kg and ride with little to no finesse - one of the best things about my bike are the rims - overly burly AlexRims SupraBH - designed as an entry level DH / FR rim, and I use it for trail / borderline AM riding - but I know it'll handle anything I throw at it.

I am sure there are plenty burly 29er wheel options out there though, and if not I am sure the manufacturers are catching on, but then again 29er development up until now has been focussed on XC and marathon racers so who knows...
