Just a warning, watch out for the road works on Steenberg Road, before the right hand turn onto the Main Road, this is a fast stretch and the bunches are still pretty big. The road narrows down to a single lane about 100 m before the corner and then opens up again.

They would be better off (since the road is closed ) to gooi us all down the oncoming lane on the RHS of that Island.

I live near there, and that hole aint gunna be fixed. it's been growing steadily for two weeks

been concerned about this one as well - it started off in the shoulder and over the last couple weeks has been creeping towards the centre median. there's no way it'll be sorted by the weekend.

everyone should be slowing down to take the sharp right hand corner onto main rd (like this ever acually happens), so just take it easy down there guys

Never fear lads, I will sneak out there on saturday night and shape that dirt into a sweet jump. Put a landing on the other side and a few planks over the middle for the newbies. Then sit there with my camera on sunday. Good luck all you guys that are doing the race!

And don't be surprised to see the Hout Bay Hippies protesting outside the construction site of the new Toll Plaza on Sunday.

can we have a protest to protest the protesters wasting valuable print space?

I am sure they will have it sorted before Sunday....... they had better  :cursing:

unlikely, it looks like that bridge was subsiding so it's not a quick fix.

WHY should you be slowing down?! I would be gunning it to get to the front of the bunch to avoid the congestion........ just don't overshoot it and hit the pavement

Agreed. Send us down the other side of the road. Glow cones on the left of the otherside to gradualy guide the riders into a single lane will be dangerous; if the wind blows imposssible. I live like a min away - if thay fix that sucker by Sunday road works must be the best in the world!

Just went past the road works on Steenberg Road, it looks like they are busy closing up the hole and laying the tar, it may be clear for Sunday.
