Hi

My apologies, I am always on about licensing, but can anyone help....

2007: Used a Tour de Frans option which registered me for a cyclosport (Card an all), but with what appears to be pseudo club membership??

2008: It looks like you have to have a club membership for a cyclosport? Where can I join a club without the "k@K'of being a club member. I'm not interested in group rides, or club gear, or any other nonsense. Cycling is expensive enough (time and money).

Is it possible to affiliate with CSA directly? Or with Central Gauteng?

Any help will be appreciated....

You can join CGC directly. R225 for affiliation and cyclosport license. Gail from CGC will be back in the office (1st floor Cyclelab building) on Monday.

I think the Mugg & Bean club offers that aswell. A basic membership and the only kit you get is a t-shirt I think.

I have recently used Mugg & Bean Club to get my cyclosport license (Used "Glass of Water" option - refer to their website).  R100 admin fee and R155 for license.  No other club benefits included, but one can upgrade at any time.

tried to do out team licenses Big%20smileonly to find that the sponsoring club is not showing on the "Myrace' website for online licensing... seems we have to first sort that out...Dead

Funny the csa wanting all these things in place but nothing seems to be working properly.Cry

Turboman, Latrinus did ask that the clubs submit their details and he pleaded here for everyone to get it through to them.  If the clubs don't send it in, nothing CSA can do!

ok' date=' skip the cyclosport licence. where or how can I buy the recreational licence?[/quote']

1.    The CSA Recreational License/ Member License<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

This is an alternative to the Cyclo-Sport Licence and is intended for recreational cyclists who are not really interested in competition. No licence card will be issued initially but it will still be a requirement that the licence holder must be a member of a club or of their Provincial Body (i.e. CGC, Pedal Power Association). This licence fee will be R20,00. This will be paid by the Club or your Provincial Body (CGC or PPA). CSA Recreational Licences taken out from 1 September 2007 will be valid till 31 December 2008. This licence is multi-disciplinary, i.e. valid for Road, MTB, BMX and Track, where applicable.

ok, which club is inexpensive, without the frills?

I wont mind paying r30 to "thehubclub" for  the r20 licence fees + a token r10 admin fee, but sadly, that beast does not exist

what is the next inexpensive option?

Try Telkom Cycle Club. I have noticed that they have the best fees.

Those guys/dolls not wanting to join clubs but wanting the facility to ride licensed simply do the following at the cost of someone doing a bit of paper work.

EG: 20 friends club together and fill in forms and take to CGC office pay over your CGC fee of R75-00 for affiliation and R75-00 for Cyclosport license (R150-00 per person) for the year plus cost of two photos all done and dusted. Download application form and constitution from website and change name to you new found club name and submit.Once license arrives fotget about one another until year end and repeat.
