Well done Boonen, thoroughly enjoyed watching a rider of his class dominate the race. I think he was trying to eclipse Spartacus' win two years ago, had to go from further out you know. Picked out an old copy of Cyclesport while having my constituional this morning, and found an article detailing what they thought were the 30 most, er, classic, Classics of the modern era. This one came in at No 1: Tchmil's win in 1994. it came after an attack 50km out, much like Boonen's did.
