Yes he did, good for him.

 

I see about 1000 riders finished of over 1200 entrants so just under 20% DNF's - not too bad.

I saw the Williams team finish on their singlespeeds...what a huge smile on their faces!!

Does anyone know if this is/was a Epic first???

 

Anyhow...kudo's to them....THAT was epic..... :thumbup:

No 2 american dudes were forced to compete on SS by the state pententiary system a few years ago

Grant Usher and Nick White rode as a team on 29er SS this year too.

 

Strangely i cant find a result for them ?

He rides for one of the 36 teams.

How does he manage that? Does he have to change kit every 22km? Anyway, I thought there were more than 36 teams.

That whole section is a compulsary portage and not just the downhill part of it. Riding that part is not permitted by Nature Conservation.

I'm sure Stauser ran all of it and maybe a bit more if it was not clearly marked, risking a penalty for riding a few metres where your not allowed is not worth it even if you have a 25 minute lead.

 

Wonder what the penalty would be? 1 hour or DQ?
