so.....i went to actionphoto..and i have 4 photos - 2 from day 1 and 2 from day 2 - none from day 3.....either they are still uploading, or that is pretty feeble. What also got me chuckling is that individually the photos are R50 ( - another story) but you can buy a package at the discounted rate of R320 (even though 4 x 50 = R200!).

All i really want is the one at the end with farmer glen.....was that also actionphoto?

I think give them some more time to upload pics. they took quite long to upload last year. Remember there were 4500 odd riders through the course over the 3 events. 2 pics each of each day = 27,000 photos for them to identify....

Excellent event once again, Race was fun and fast. didnt notice food poisoning although now my stomach feels odd, much like 2009 when they had the amoebic dysentery.

Route was great, I thought all the new bridges over the river crossings in day 2 (2nd half) were a pity and added nothing to the event. It almost felt as if there was too much intervention or manicuring of the route here. Ride through the water or 'wade and carry' like in the past was a great feature of day 2 and adventurous mountain biking.

Nicely organised, everything seemed to work well in the race villiages. Gel packets and litter on route was bad.

Nice to see the guys who did it for the first time are keen for more. Now you finally understand why we all keep going back year after year to support this event.

Agree with everything above (incl the dodgy tummy today)

I liked the intervention.... hate getting off my bike and walking through rivers..... but thats just me. I didnt have to uncleat once in the 3 days of racing and loved it.

Was fast and flowing at all times, I wish all races could be this much fun!

....

Day 2 had a blasted, right up until, 18.5km into the valley. We were battling with sun hitting us directly in the eyes all the way down the valley and my partner got a face full of sun and clipped the edge which resulted in her getting a Helicopter flip out the valley. Broken collar bone. After that it was just ride along for the rest of day even stopped at all the water points which is unusual but had no will to ride or race after the crash. Amazing how it changes your day. Good thing is she is looking well and in good spirits and sporting some new metal in her shoulder. No half measure complete snap.

Tough one gords, you guys were looking good for a podium in the mixed...went cold when you said she came off on day2....we were on our way to register for the race. Janine is tough though boet.....she sounded dissapointed but ok when I phoned from Jolivet. Big up chicken!

Awesome event and we will definitely be back. Had an absolute blast. Amazing trails. Amazing people. Cannot fault a single thing!

My only disappointment involved ******** responses from two riders when I POLITELY asked for track on singletrack descents. No buddy, actually I'm not trying to beat Kevin Evans. I am in fact here for fun and for me fun involves blasting down singletrack at speed. Funny that he figures I'm trying to win when he is the one that won't give up 5 seconds to move over so I can enjoy the trail.

Finally, anyone interested in swapping their medium Salomen and Aca Joe kit for my large...?

Amazing race. All it's made up to be.

I definitely want to ride there again, but reckon I'd rather do Joburg2C.

I also had (still have) a dodgy stomach. But reckoned it was something I ate on the way back.

Ok, so i want to do this event. How do you enter? Is there like a 3 year waiting list? How does the entry process work?

Allow me to help after been on the waiting list for 3 years. Keep an eye on the hub and when you see a race entry up for grabs, buy it without hesitation. I waited patiently to get an entry and it never arrived.

Saying that, i rode my first Sani2c this year after picking up my entry 12 days before it started and it was in the race event. What an awesome 3 days, everyone talks about day 2 which is simply awesome although it's tough! However day 1 and day 3 are equally spectacular, with the beautiful scenary of the berg and the lovely forest singletrack of day 1 and the fast and furious day 3 jeep tracks and wicked rough downhills coming out of Vernon Crookes. My partner and found all 3 days to have their own highlights and all days equally as good as eachother.

For all the moaners out there, there is a fine line between success and failure. Perhaps the guys who go back year after year can compare their previous adventures and start been critical. The fact that Sani2c have tried their best to increase the numbers so more can experience it is fantastic. I have been to Switzerland and ridden some of their best trails and can proudly say that Sani2c is up there. Remember the beading band that Farmer Glen gave us to put on our bikes and don't forget that we can get on our bikes and ride them.

Sani2c will be something i cherish forever and although i plan to be back for next year, i hope i will never take for granted what it means to everyone involved, whether you are a rider, a supporter, a volunteer, an organiser or one of the many thousands that live along the route that benefit from it. To have experienced Sani2c is to have experienced what mtb'ing is all about and i hope that if you find yourself starting to doubt how good it is, give up your entry for next year so that someone who hasn't ridden it yet, can go experience why it is the most popular event in SA, if not the world!!
