Getting more and more amped by the day.... Riding with my wife... so no racing this side either :whistling:... Joberg2C maybe if I am lucky next year :)

Yip. Same here. But in my case I couldn't race even if I wanted to. I'll be keeping up the rear on behalf of the heavy weight division in the Adventure.

I assume that Jozi2c and Sani2c use the same route. Kevin Evans tweeted yesterday:

"@kevinevansracin: J2C Stage 8 MacKenzie Club–Jolivet, 97km, 2230m. Can u say 35km downhill singletrack..."

I really hope that 2230m's is the amount we descend and not ascend......

Don't know why but not yet excited. Battled 4yrs to get an entry and now that we have it... Took a dive at the mountain trophy last week and my wrist hurts. Maybe that's the damper.

I've been so worried about injuring myself before this race. Know a few people that have had to bail.

At this point in time, I'm stressed. My bike is currently at the shop for repairs. Shop can only get stock of my rotor on Tuesday and we leave on Saturday so cutting is a little close. Now my work want me to go to Jhb next week !!!! aaaaaargh.

Know that feeling... I sent my wife's bike & my bike in for a service this week... Her bike is 100%... mine has a list of things that need replacing  Hopefully I get them BOTH back tomorrow... so at least I can have a test run or 2 before we leave next weekend

See I was good and got the bike serviced 2 weeks ago already and have had a few rides to make sure everything was working 100%.

ok just worked out my averages. From just after new years to the end of April

Avg 5h 26 per week

Avg 88km per week

Avg 1700m climbing per week

the intensity in April was obviously very different to that in Jan. i think i am content with that

Some feedback from the Joberg2c camp, somewhat relevant as it'll be our 2nd day.

Husband's complaining the route was tough. He said there was a BIG climb that would just not end. Perhaps his 8 day old legs are feeling it but he has me somewhat worried. My friends had a 9hr+ day. :excl:

My times from last year's Adventure:

- Stage 1 4h39 (with a 20 minute technical)

- Stage 2 7h10

- Stage 3 3h58

We started in the second last group on day 1 and ended in the 6th group, placing us in the top 300 without trying hard. We took it really easy last year, so 9 hours must mean that it was wet or windy out there.

Hubby clocked a 5h40 today. says there was a 10km climb that wasn't in last year's stage. Watched the coverage on tv tonight.what an awesome view of the valley from the top.

anybody got the co ordinates for the route in order for us to start "browsing" the weather conditions? For all the Trail guys, our morning seems to be starting with a 0 C morning!!!!
