I would think they did their homework before deciding on their price points, either way imo i don't see the Pyga as comparable to other mass produced, made in Taiwan brands and that is why I've ordered one.

Where will these Pyga frames be "made" huh?

I did not compare "it" to anything, just said that the price seemed high compared to other highly rated and in-high-demand, top brand ds frames.

Hope you'll love your frame/bike... no need to get snotty with me mr. fanboy.

All that over me suggesting a R1100 drop in ds price and increase on the ht price?

The frames will be made in Pietermaritzburg.

I don't see how expressing an opinion different to yours is being snotty but we are all entitled to our own views I guess.

I agree with theV. They could have made the ds cheaper and the ht more expensive.

But i guess patrick figures most people will buy the ds anyways so lets pump it's price.

Or maybe it is just what it costs him to make the bike frame and then a fair profit to sustain the business.

Sense! Even at these prices and with cutting out the middleman (shops) for the first order run or two it will take him a good couple of years to cover his initial investment and even longer to make profit. All the while bills and salaries have to get paid.

I think the 1st year of Pyga will be hectic, I've asked 3 LBS's if they will be stocking Pyga and all 3 replied the same:

We emailed them to stock Pyga bikes, but waiting for a reply.

No I wonder , do they want to cut out lbs's completely or would it take some time.

What I understand is that they will only sell through bike shop when exporting. Locally they will not use bike shops. I might be wrong but that is what I gather from their web site

I spoke to the gents at PYGA to place an order but I think I will hold out till they can supply the painted frames. The black and white ones looks great. Does anyone know when they will start distributing the painted frames? How long does a line of ‘Limited Editions’ go on for?

My LBS has the same issue. Emailed them, got a reply to say they'll come back in a week's time and since then haven't heard anything. I get the feeling that they are not so keen anymore cause what will be in it for them when the guaranteed first couple of orders bypass them?

PYGA could therefore just improve on their PR ... a simple reply email to the LBS would be the way to do things one would think
