It took a long time for him to get to this point though.

Some never did, while others got there a lot sooner.

Yeah... He admits to it all, is open about his mindset and how he has worked really hard about sorting out his issues.

 

I like that.

 

Too many 'that era' cyclists continue to live in denial or remain resolved to justify their doping.

 

He just says he was a young angry idiot.

Good on him for making peace with himself. It takes alot of introspection. When i read that I thought to myself that yes, he was totally wrong but how much of what he did was because of the state of the game then? When you probably know your idols and the best in the game all do it...and it’s the only way to win, and you really want to win...you’ll do stupid things probably. Anyway, they all have to live with their own choices in the end. At least he admitted it all openly.
