Italy....France.... Where do they come into the equation, some saffa gone there as well?

Nah, just if you are picking a country with bike heritage then Germany would not be my first choice.

It doesn't matter where the frames or parts come from. Silverback was a SA brand. They have turned their back on SA and have moved to Germany. That means they now contribute to the economy of Germany and not SA.

By the way, somebody earlier on mentioned that Moewood also comes from the East. They don't, the frames are made right here in SA and I think the same applys to Pyga.

I dont think so

For one I have seen reference to both Morewood and Pyga frames being made across the water

Morewood, only assembles welds and sprays the frames at the factory, all the parts are mahcined and molded in the east, I cant see Patric embracing a different business model now that he has Pyga.

The kwela is totally made and assembled in the east as well.

Silverback has always had a designed in Germany sticker on,i never saw anything to represent SA on them.

Do they still have a office in Cape Town?

SAB isn't a South African company anymore. Nando's is international. What's this "turned their backs on SA"rubbish?

It's just an idea.

Doesn't detract from the bikes or their value.

But it obviously is important to some and those will vote with their wallets.

Speaking of Silverback I noticed their Storm 1 carbon hardtail 29er

Full XT

Full Carbon

Rock Shock SID

ZTR Crest Wheels

FSA Stem and handlebar

For R24k!

That is good value peeps! Even if you buy it and replace the frame one day with your dream frame I cant see how you can go wrong with that.

Granted, but some will also turn their noses up if you punted it as a South African brand.

For sure, I'd rather be proud that a company and brand conceived in SA is making a global push.

I just wish they'd bring in more of their commuter and lifestyle bikes. Also, have they dumped their line of skateboards?
