Was these or some Spanks. The fact that these were half the price of the Spanks kinda sealed the deal...

They arrive on Monday, hopefully.

Can't go wrong with these things. Bought mine a good few months ago and they are awesome...now just need to save for their buddies 5-10..lol

Does it come with spare tubes and puncture repair kit?

not needed for a GRID, TBH.

The guys in ThornVille (aka Botswana) ride GRIDs and they don't have any issues

$364 each

I took the 105 5800 option which includes the PM and crankarm (LHS).

$399 is the normal price, less 10% and then $9.99 for a 2 working day delivery.

At R13.89/$ it's just over R5k

I like...

At least they are kind of serviceable so should last forever if looked after.

Yeah. I could get cheaper pedals, but I had 3 criteria.

Must be hardy. Check.

Must have pins that go ALL the way through. Check.

Affordable (ie not R 2,000 landed)

My current pedals, as awesome as they are, can only accept grub screws and as such they shed pins and deform when the pins are ripped out, cos they don't go all the way through. Flats with a bolt-type pin design are, IMO, far superior if only for that reason. Sadly that limits your selections.

Do you have more examples of the bolt-type pin flat pedals?

You probably already know but remove the washers. Allows a longer pin and it really does improve the grip.

Is there anyone in CT that stocks Spank gear? Can't think of any shops I've been into lately.

I've got the Saints on my FatBike, which I'm using as my recovery bike to build up leg strength after a broken hip. I've never ridden on flats before, and since fitting the Saints, all I can say is that they are freakin' amazing!! Worth every cent :)
