He's obsessed with social media. I fear he isn't managing it so well.

Anna Zimmerman of 150wattsofawesome has a nice blogpost on why Lance should just shut it:

http://150wattsofawesome.blogspot.com/2012/06/muting-lance-armstrong.html

Robert Luskin, a.k.a. head honcho of the Lance Armstrong Legal Team, recently stated that “over the next few days, Lance will consider all of his options for preserving his record and his good name.” Obviously, shut up and make the other side prove their case was not an option he considered. If I did not know any better, I would think he was busy working for the USADA, proving on a daily basis why they should delay the release of the anonymous witnesses until the last possible minute to minimize the inevitable bullying by the Twitter account of Mr. Armstrong.

Wasn't Slipstream's whole reason for existing to be able to prove that you can compete dope-free, and to be totally transparent up front, with all of their training / recruiting etc? Smacks of yet another team being willfully ignorant, and not sticking to their "values" (I use the term loosely in this regard)

Yeah, especially when you consider the old quote that the author of this article dug up from Vaughters: http://www.cyclingnews.com/features/past-becomes-present-for-vaughters-slipstream-organisation

I think this might just turn out well for Lance. USADA are changing the public sentiment to: everybody doped so why is Lance the only one being targeted?

This is his angle of defence on Twitter at the moment and it's a good one.

In the news this week was that Leipheimer, Hincapie, Vande Velde and Zabriskie all admitted to being on the USPostal doping program and will all get 6 month bans. It explains why none of them were selected for the olympics. They will all be witnesses against the accused.

Contador, Landis, Armstrong, Pantani, Ullrich, Riis - the history of dopers winning the tdf grows.

Add to this some other famous big names that got bust:

Rasmusen, Zabel, Basso, Mayo, Sean Kelly, Stephen Roche, Chiappucci, Virenque, Di Luca......

Maybe they must just reinstate all the "dirty" cyclists from that period but add an "augmented" tag to their results and get all this silly witch hunting over and done with. Let cycling move on and all of us have happy times again.

I am not really sure thats happening. To me it looks more like public sentiment is saying "Because we cant catch them all doesn't mean we must stop trying" - LA is the only one trying the "I am targeted" avenue and in my opinion its not working.

I like it. Let the results stand with an asterisk next to their name, and let it be.

Why stop there?

Merckx, Coppi, Thevenet, (Pollentier probably would have won if he wasn't caught with someone else's piss under his arm), Anquetil, Aimar, Delgado, Fignon. The list is endless. And if you really want to go this route, take a look at the pre 1950's Tours.

You are right, it's not working. The 'I am targeted angle' has been met with so what is the problem with that if you are clean.

If he's lucky his legacy might be doping because with Hansie people just remember the lies, not the match fixing.

Yeah indeed.

Sadly I think his latest lawsuit is reminiscent of a man trying to hide the truth.

By trying to get an injunction to stop USADA from proceeding with the investigation he would effectively prevent the world from hearing the testimony of Hincappie, Leipheimer and the rest. One really needs to ask "if he is innocent, what do's he fear in this testimony"?

....but, as you say, (and I agree), these are not the actions of a man with nothing to hide, I get the feeling LA knows the USADA have strong evidence against him and are not going to let him skate on this one.

I dont think his action will succeed either, I am fairly sure the court will rule in USADA's favor as its the standard all pro athletes are held to and LA himself would have agreed at some stage to abide by their rules.

Quick result from the court is a surprize. The judge seemed to think he has a weak case.

I cant help but think the actions of LA are those somebody who does not want testimonies to be heard.
