pinoy Posted June 15, 2012 Share I'm looking for a bikeshop that can service a Fox 40 fork in Durban? Which LBS is the authorized service center or has at least a qualified mechanic that knows something with regards to fox forks? TIA. Chro Mo Posted June 15, 2012 Share Vaughan from Powercycles in "Toti will be able to point you ij the right direction. He used Shaun's(from Shaun's Powercycles) brother to check out an expired rear shock that I had - apparently the guy is very good. Forgot his name, though... maybe because I'm now riding rigid. The have a website with contact details etc. Good luck.
pierremerv Posted June 16, 2012 Share It's Mark from Good 2 Go. Don't have their number on me now though. He's your guy.
pinoy Posted June 16, 2012 Share Thanks! Did some research and found out that Maverick Cycles is also a Fox service agent. Maverick Cycles is situated in the Lillies Quarter lifestyle centre in Durban. We cater for all your cycling needs. We are known as the MTB specialists and carry a full range of bikes. We have the ability to supply, you the discerning rider, with whatever you require, including road, triathlon bikes and BMX bikes. The Maverick Cycles shop caters for all kinds of services, including the MAMBA service, which transforms your bike back to that “just like brand new” feel and look. We also have a fork and shock service centre, and are approved Fox Service agents. During October to April we offer early morning rides leaving the shop at 05h00. During May to September, we offer indoor training – bring your indoor trainer and road/MTB bike I also checked Good to Go Cycles and they are the authorized service center for SRAM forks and shox. I'm not familiar with LBS here, anyone here had any good or bad experiences with regards to service with these two shops? Which is better in dealing with servicing forks? Not sure Mavericks is still open, I went past there last weekend and it was shut down. Maybe they have moved. Thay have moved to a new shop. I think it is near Dunlop in Hillcrest as far as I know. They are a Fox srevice agent and that the service that I received relating to a shock service was good. Not sure if I would send my Fox stuff to someone that wasn't qualified to work on it. Just saying....

I know, this is a problem After my last fun time with Mavericks , I'm inclined to find someone else. If there really is no one else then I'll have to go there, doh. Just always had rubbish service from them.
