nice one Taahir. That tyre gets super good reviews.

All 26" versions are currently non UST/TLR compatible. Only their 650b and 29er versions are. Facts easily gleaned from their website.

But 26ers can still go tubeless, just need a bit more time for the sealant to take effect. No different from going tubeless with other non UST/TLR tyres.

If you getting a set, keen to hear your thoughts on the tyre's performance :)

Ha. Must just be the one I had. Consider that a retraction.

I don't think its just the one you hap OmegaMan, there are posts on international forums of guys who struggled to get them set up. I think your comment is fair.

All I found on that tyre was that its light, grippy in every condition, measures true and durable. Oh, and well priced. Looks like they're available locally too for round R700, that's the 26x24" 120 tpi 65a/55a foldable version.

Any idea how many KM Karl has racked up on his Omega, he rides pretty hard as well doesn't he?

I think some people have had hassles with them... there are mixed reviews as well as mixed experiences but people I talk to have loved them for SA conditions.

Pretty keen to get some and see how they go and for the price +/- R600 they are a steal.

Edit: Posted before seeing TAAHIRWP's response. If they set up easy best tyre for the price, if a hassle, then takes the love out of it. You should see me struggle and swear opening a 'quick' link but I can buid you a wheel from scratch! ;)

Phew. Ok so I'm not insane.

He's had it on his Canyon just over a year by my calcs. I got it on my Turner. Rode it once and sold it to him so pretty good life out of it.

have a 2.25 onza ibex on the front of my gt force

i actually really like it, i had never heard of onza before i got the bike, but this tyre seems to be really nice

and a 2.3 minion at the back

"borrowed" it from my brother only like 3 months ago or so, and its trashed, which is a bit annoying, all in all i don't think i need to tell you guys what a minion is like, everyone has had one at some point (i quite like them)

What are you considering for the rear? how long have you had your Ibex out front now and is it tubeless?

im not running tubeless, but can see from the inside of the onza that it has been run tubeless by the previous owner (i don't like tubeless because from my experience its been just as bad as tubes, only more expensive).

there are a couple of tyres I'm thinking of getting, but what I'm going to do is buy a new front tyre and put the onza at the back, cause i got a feeling that a new front tyre will be better than a new back one.

anyway, here are what I'm thinking of getting:

another onza ibex, i like it that much

hans damph, only heard good things about it

magic mary, cause it has magic in the name...

then i dunno, maybe a highroller 2 or an ardent, i hear the ardents are really nice

any one know where is can get a set of hans damph 26 x 2.35 in jhb?

looking for a pacestar and trailstar so i can do a complete swap on my current setup to test.
