Well it depends what I am building with. Everything I make is custom so it depends on what you want.

Something along the lines of your wifes bike ,Except XL & maybe take 140mm fork upfront   :whistling:

+1

Also, would you consider installing S&S couplers on a frame that was brought to you? If so how much would you charge?

First prize would be for me to get a custom MTB made by you with them already installed.

Sure i would do S&S couplers for you. You do know my work shop is in London

Hahaha, those are logistics I would have to get sorted out.

Don't know anyone who would do them here in Cape Town. I have family and friends in UK.

Any clue as to what a All Mountain type frame (i.e. like an On-one 456 summer season) would set me back?

Well, for example, the one in the pics here?

I only saw this thread now for the 1st time and I got goosebumps!

WOW, those are fancy looking bikes.

For my personal interest - how do you perform strength tests on those welds/connection areas? You can PM if you dont want to say here...it will be interseting to know.

Where do you get the connection pieces? Did you get them cast yourself?

Is it possible to get tubesets in sa? Or would I have to import myself? I have made a few mtb frames out of mild steel as practice and to get the geometry right but am keen to make one out of reel steel! Can't find cromoly anywhere in sa, even straight gauge tubing.

Contact guys like Francois du Toit as they might have tubes lying about.
