do you know what is the difference between SID and reba? the xx models appear almost identical in specs and weight

I think sid is only lighter.Have both at home .Both dual air with same adjustments

Problem with Rock shock 29' is that you are restricted to 100mm travel. Ok if you are only intending to do marathon type riding but for more technical riding i would up for longer adjustable travel

I think its just weight but for some reason My reba was easier to setup. I hate my SID (26") and wish i never got rid of my reba.

Reading threads though it could be a case of the agent duidnt do a good job in the service and added too much oil or something but as it stand right now I will get a reba before sid. The spesh forsk are also reba's.

XTR is great but nothing worng with FULL xt grouppo. You wont feel the difference in the braking department.

not many sram supporters then, is the gruppo really that bad? i rode on old sram around 5-6 years ago in days when shimano had 2:1 gear activation vs the 1:1 ratio of SRAM and was generally happy.

ZTR crests... Eish... I suspect the back wheel was badly built as I have already had it re-trued to try to get rid of play. I am busy replacing the bearing in the hub as the 2 smaller ones seemed a bit stuffed. Not a good start...

I had some issues with play on my Stans 3 30 hubs...are you on the same? If so and rebuilding the wheel and replacing the bearing doesn't sort out the play, there's a bushing between the bearing and the hub body that may be worn...have had the same issue on mine, the LBS did not pick it up but consulted the reps who supplied a replacement part mahala and it sorted out my issues.

Nothing wrong with Sram. Read somewhere that, carwise, you always tend to support the brand of your first car if it didnt give you hazzles, suppose it is the same with gruppos.

I myself prefer Shimano for my road bike and Sram for mtb

Yes, I have the same hubs. I've stripped it and will have the new bearings in tomorrow. If I still struggle I'll check out the bushing. Shot for that!

Nothing wrong with SRAM Mr HED. I ride it on both my Mtb's and quite a few of our group do too. Can't comment on the brakes, as I run Hope on both too. Good choice of frame and hubs there, dream bike.. I haven't ridden a Reba before, but I did ride a Kashima Fox on the Cube 29er last Saturday and it was pretty damn awesome..

Sram for shifters and derailleurs. Shimano for cranks and brakes. Rox for suspension.
