i choose not to have dstv as bof std mnet meets the families the needs adequately, and was rather stupidly expecting the SABC channels to at least show the SA events.....guess not. they tried to show chad swimming in the butterfly right now and almost got it right...they showed length 2 and 3 and halfway through the last length they cut back to some domestic program... I kid you not! i think I am going to have to do something about this! ......are there any other plebs out there who dont have dstv? how are you managing to watch the olympics?....

 

I was at least expecting the mnet spare channel to show something!

My heart absolutely broke for this girl, the judges decision was quite accurate though, she also nearly had herself handed a black card.

Yep, saw that and she put up a spirited fight after that for bronze but against the world No. 1 it was a losing battle. Tough for sure.

I remember someone once commenting that the name 'fencing' had something to do with the word 'defend/defence' ..... wonder if that's true?

i felt sorry for her to a point. then I thought once the decision was final final someone in the Korean camp should have stepped in and ended her sit-in. I understand the sport rule is once you leave the floor you accept the decision, but after 2 failed appeals someone in that camp should have stepped up - having her practically carried off by officials was not nice for anyone.

 

Sport mirrors life - good bad and ugly. SOmetimes lifes not fair - same with sport. In both cases the best thing to do is move along - not sit and cry about it.

Go through and have a guaranteed medal, or take the decision and fight for an unsecured bronze.
