If only both wheels were solid

THis one and the Felt I like, they are more practical as you can raise the saddle.

If I had the time to build something...

NOW we talking! I might just have to find the time.... Mine's not going to be Reynolds tubing... I might start with the Steel and PIpes structural tubing and go from there... Mine's gonna be moer heavy though!!

Looks cool - but going to be a great ab's workout... good luck with the semi recumbent position :)

Lets see the next design too - not yet time to give up the day job, but not time to give up drawing either.

I love cycling so maybe you need to resd yhe question again.

I have s vintage mtb that I might convert to ss if I could understand why. At this point the build process, which I am sure to enjoy, is the only reason.

Build it - ride it... you will either love it or be indifferent - you can always build it back to what it was before if you don't cut off any key bits.

Conversion should only take an hour or so to do - worth a try if you ask me - building bikes is fun anyway - and your old bike probably needs some maintenance anyway.

Now if Evans cycles would just send me the bolts I need, my second SS will be going shortly - idiot Avid importer in this country does not import standard brake caliper bolt sets.... said they would import them for me - 7 weeks minimum - major fail.

Avid = Fail

Cape Cycle Systems = Fail - No trouble from my other set of Avids at all - just need to be set up properly - just as reliable as these are - weigh a LOT less, and the pads are cheaper by far:
