Spare me. I donated money to flymango's cause even after the bike was won, so feel free to kiss my ass.

As I have said, Olympic athletes train for years to reach that start line. Somewhere, some guy was probably sidelined because of another posterboy with an extra spring in his step.

Who was sidelined???

The guy who came 25th in the heats? really....

Anyway, so we know your opinion. here's the opinion of the biggest talent in the 400m since ben Johnson:

“I really respect and admire the guy, I just see him as another athlete and another competitor, and more importantly I see him as another person,” said Kirani James of Grenadathe reigning world 400m champion. “He is out here making history, and we can all respect and admire that.”

I've met Oscar a few times - we sponsored him the R6 and R1 when I used to be at Yamaha. Top guy, really humble. I had the chance to chat to him about the whole advantage/disadvantage thing - especially about the weight of the blades. Ironically, he actually ADDS weight to the blades to make them swing easier, and more importantly, he builds up lactic much quicker than an able bodied person, because he has less blood available in his body. Anyone who can do a 2:10 around Kyalami with no legs deserves to be at the Olympics!!!

I've seen him on TV a few times and he seems like a very nice oke.

That is quite a change of tune. Was this your view of him from the start, or did you change your mind mid-thread?

What makes you think Oscar did not train for years?

Of course he did! As did everyone else on the start line. Don't shoot the messenger because I choose to think for myself and lean towards the thinking of those that are smarter than me.

Somewhere some guy should have just qualified for the Olympics just like our poster boy did  Edited by fabes

Don't think you see the entire picture here. If you have an advantage, you have an advantage. Had there not been an advantage, the guy that finished 25th might have finished 24th and gone through to the next heat.

Lastly, Herr argues that if Pistorius' prosthetics work better than biological limbs, they'd be giving a boost to other amputees, too. But Paralympic athletes have used the same technology for the past 15 years, and no one has achieved Pistorius's running times. "It's clearly because of Oscar, not the legs," Herr said.

My thoughts exactly.

His name was Herman or Kobus, and he would've gotten a certificate of attendance saying "Thank you, dankie, ry versigtig huistoe!"
