patches Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 There's no poll option for "Wizzard"... so I can't vote! hahaha! just kidding! But once again this poll uses the term "MTB" to describe XCM riding. Personally when I think about what 'level' MTB rider someone is, I almost take fitness out of the equation completely. (ok, it does count, but not for much in my opinion). I can get fit by going to spinning classes. Tech skills are where I think one ups the level of rider they are... and to be honest... you don't need much of those for XCM races. whistler and 4barlinkage 2

Even when going downhill. One cannot get MTB (XCO,XCM,whatever other technical classification you can think of) "fit" in a spinning class alone. MariusC and cowboylegs 2
Mountainman44 Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Above average. However, if you are entering a race with seeding such as the Nissan Trailseeker, you will be seeded into the H or I or Z batch and be behind 700 other riders, most of which much slower than you. You will stand around waiting your turn to cross obstacles and will end up averaging 16 or 18 kph due to this. Nevertheless, go out and simply enjoy the first couple of races while you work yourself up the seeding rankings.
