I cant figure this pair out at all. They have all the credibility of Jackie Selebie. Claim they want to clean up cycling but go after one of the first people to to break the code of silence.

Verbruggen and Fat Pat. What a pair.

And remember Fat Pat's huge porker about riding in South Africa?

Yeah, just short of $20.000.00 US Dollars, quite a tidy sum and growing. I think the UCI must be more than a little concerned about this support for Kimmage and the call for a change of the old guard at their headquarters, and if they arent they should be, I haven't found much sympathy for either Pat or Hein in any of the general cycling media.

I believe its near $50k now? To put that into context, "fans" raised over $1m for Floyed's defence fund when he was still pretending to be a victim... I don't think $50k is all that impressive an effort considering how much press this is getting and how many people believe that Humpty and Dumpty are being bullies.

But really - is cycling any different from other sports when it comes to administration? Football has Sepp Blatter, the IOC had Juan Antonio Samaranch, Cricket South Africa has Gerald Majola... all protecting their little empires.

Easiest way to get rich. Become a sport administrator in a sport that hands out favours/expenses/venues/hosting opportunities.

Apart, of course, of being a comrade.

I wonder if Fat Pat will survive in the same way that mad Bob has lasted far longer than a sane man would think possible? Ostracised by most but still in power.

David, good news, found a real pitbull of a lawyer to go after those two ****ers.

Paul Kimmage@PaulKimmage

Ooops, sorry that was supposed to be a private message to@DavidWalshST

Paul Kimmage@PaulKimmage

Eoin: 'You know you can delete that message you sent to David?' Me: 'Why would I want to do that?'

I think Eoin's his son…

"As much as the programme raises serious questions about Armstrong, it also paints the UCI in a bleak light. Former pro Jorg Jaksche was interviewed about his drug use and admission, and his claims that he tried to provide the UCI with clear information about doping in the sport, but nothing as acted upon.

However perhaps more damaging was an account of former WADA president Richard Pound about an exchange he said he had in the past with the UCI’s previous president, Hein Verbruggen.

“I said ‘Hein, you guys have a huge problem in your sport.’ He said ‘what do you mean?’ I said ‘the doping.’ ‘Well,’ he said, ‘that is really the fault of the spectators.’

“I said, ‘I beg your pardon...it is the spectators’ fault?’ He said, ‘yes…if they were happy with the Tour de France at 25 k [km/h], it would be fine. But if they want it at 41, 42, the riders have to prepare.’”
