Magicshine MJ872.

replaced my (what i though real value for money) LED Lenser T7 torch with bike mount

what i spent on batteries for the LED lenser almost amounts to just buying the magicshine from the get-go.

maar goedkoop koop is duurkoop partykeer.

i was somewhat surprised to only pay R195 for new avid brakepads the other day.......but the free gear cable i got with it has to be the most cost effective!

Brand New(except for a thin film of dust) 2010 Silverback Phoenix for under R4k. It filled the gap when the Iron Pig was stolen and got me back in the saddle when I needed the therapeutic effect of cycling more than ever before. Not flash or fancy, but I'll be heartsore if I ever have to sell it.

Titanium Victoria roadbike with Campy 10-speed: R8 000

Colnago Master with Campy 9-speed: R5 000

Colnago Superissimo with Campy 8-speed: R5 000

And those instant tyre patches for R35 = brilliant

And so far nobody's mentioned a maintenance course - will pay for itself 1000 times over if you're used to getting your LBS to do everything. Not to mention the day you get stuck with a tacoed wheel / snapped derailleur / busted chain 100km from the middle of nowhere.

I have to agree with the chain link here. R15, and without it I would probably still be on my way home from somewhere.

For thoe ith bigger travel bikes, or those that love the technical...

Rock Shox Reverb. They seem expensive, but as all dropper post owners will attest, they really do transform a bike and are worth every cent.

Personally, my Giant Trance X1 was a total bargain if I look at the pleasure and hassle free service it gave me over the last 4 years. The only bike I know that may rival it for value for money for mileage is the Reighn that Pain or Shine has thrashed for the same period.

Agreed! I have a KSi950R and that was money well spent
