Im in 2 minds about the book - one the one side it really was a good read and showed a different side of what its like and what measures you have to compete at that level. on the other side of the coin - i think it was clearly a PR ploy to try and save some face from Tyler Hamiltons side.

 

One things for sure , il never be able to watch those great tours from 2000-2005 again without looking at the racing in a whole new light... Even though there were clearly more athletes involved than just Lance Armstrong - I think LA is taking the brunt of it due to the fact that what he achieved supercedes what anyone thought possible? i mean 7 tour wins? clearly he had some kind of advantage over the other guys....

 

At the end of it all, i think they're all just pawns in some bigger game, treated like racehorses in the hopes of making as much money as possible for the Powers that be. I would love to find out more about who else was on Fuentes' / ferraris books to get a clearer idea of just how much of the peloton was actually cheating / making maximum mint for their "investors"

No way I am going to become a thief in order to punish a cheat. His cheating is his affair. My stealing is my affair. I prefer not to steal because if I do I believe that I can expect my own property rights to be disrespected.

OM....just rephrase your statement so that Mr Legs can relax. Say you will borrow the book from a friend or get it from someone that threw it away.

Just saw an interview with TH on Sky. The gist of it was he is encouraging LA to come clean and admit what he had done regarding doping. TH seemed to think LA was suffering at home and coming clean would help him to feel better

Saw that, and thought he came across really oily / Oprah / Holier-than-thou. Possibly sticking the boot in whilst appearing to be concerned for LA.

Relax bru. I bought the book. So you can climb off high horse on the moral high ground now. I really enjoyed it. I did think that the last few chapters where written in a hurry to coincide with the media sh!tstorm to boost sales but that could just be a coincidence. Or clever marketing. The synic in be thinks it's the second option.
