I saw someone spraying "Spray and Cook" on his bike and wheels prior to the race start. Did this prevent the clay from sticking?

 

It helps, but it's not very good for anodising. Another one is MrMin, keep away from brakes and tyres though

We used it at the rietvlei 24hr. Helped for about 1 km per lap,

Were there any injuries? I would have thought that in conditions like that, that the rocky decents would have been ver dangerous

The descents were very tame compared to the Nissan Trailseeker race. Nothing hectic.

i almost died. went over my handle bars twice front derailer didnt work, and never had so much mud on me before.

if i wasnt doing the epic next year i would have skipped the race. really keen to try that route in the dry, thinking it would have been a completely different race then.
