I believe that the Tour de France has a new name. " Tour de Lance" Its not about the bike - Its about the stimulant.

eek.gif I see what you did there... you made a play with words.... and you did it twice, once with the name of the famous cycle tour, and a second time with the name of his autobiography... very clever... hahaha

What's not so funny is the damn mess pro cycling is in...

We (our company) used to invest in an advertising package for the Tour on DSTV every year... the last 2 years we even super sized to an HD package... I can already tell you that next year we will not be advertising... it's sad.. and not funny at all...

So why are you not going to advertise? Are people going to stop watching TDF? There are scandals in all sports. Life moves on and people forget.

I would like to think their reasoning behind the decision not to advertise, is all about company image and ethics? If i had a company that had a product/service that could be advertised during the TdF, I would also not do it, taking recent developments and revelations into account. Its tough times out there and customers might associate the company's product with a sport fueled by stimulants. But then again ,and I HATE it when I contradict myself, it would probably be the case for most professional sports anyways. I would like to get the reasoning behind the V's company decision. wonder if they dope in chess and darts?
