We have their names!

Race office needs to do a history profile on them to see if their previous results match up to their times.

If not - they need to be tarred and feathered and placed before a firing squad!!!!

For most of the names I checked it was their first Racetec timed event. Many did their first seeded race according to SAS. Talk about a flying start to your carreer!

Was there a stand selling "GO FAST EPO" tablets at the EXPO.

Seems I missed that stand.

Just checked the results. Racetec have taken all A8 and A7 out of the results. Moved up to 201 overall with a 2:54.

JUSTICE TO THOSE THAT SLOGGED IT OUT!!!!!

Think they should have removed more than just the A7 & A8

If they bothered to check, then A5 and higher were taking the "short-cut"

Quickly checked the A5 finishers.

First three don't have a seeding and finished 18/27/39 respectively. The 4 th A5 finisher finished 41st in time 2:30. ( this same finisher has a seeding index of 76 and did the Hakahana the week before in a time of 4:28 for the 40km) DEFINITELY ON EPO.

The fifth A5 finisher has a seeding index of 5 and is a M Elite rider finished in 2:36. This is definitely the first A5 finisher.

The first 4 clowns should be scrapped. Hope they feel good about their times!!!

People are taking this ride way too seriously. Double the number of your placing as in reality half the entrants did not even wear a chip.

So there may be someone out there who is actually the overall winner and we may not even know it. Cool.

Been riding for a few months and really enjoyed the ride, thanks to all that were a part of it. My first event

Was a bit apprehensive of the 55, so did the 30 (B7 - right from the back) and managed a 1h54 with lots left in my legs. Definitely up for the 55 next year.

Are you saying we should go back to announcing positions 1-3 and stop the whole timing/ seeding/ results business?

My main happiness also, even though I went granny gear'ish, I picked a speed and kept to it,

so my time was 2:33 on the 30km on B7

My 1st MTB race ever and only been riding for a few months now - so I'm very chuffed!

felt I would have done much better if not for all the traffic. hehe

And to add to my chuffness I rode the whole thing. Never got off to push!clap.gif

hmm, would be difficult for race tech to correct, they can't say who have practiced and deserves to be up there or who cheated by taking the short cut.

They actually need to put additional timing mats up along the way to form a pattern, just a start and finish mat opens up for these scenario's.

I have seen prize winners DQ'ed for riding sleeveless (a lady nogal), very stupid! A shirtsleeve is no protection!!! They are fooling themselves. Ipods are banned but there was a guy riding with some sort of music player in his backpack. Still couldnt hear me asking for track.

Ya i passed him at the start, orange camelbak. Sounded like he asked his spinning instructor to record him some of vat lekker kwaai tekno to get his hart beats pomping...

I disagree - I bet if they phone all the non A1 and A2's, they will find that the guys and girls will readily admit the situation. I doubt that anyone really wanted to cheat. At the end there was really no alternative but crossing the timing mats. Most of the cyclists are likely to be blissfully ignorant of the whole storm (in a teacup).
