Great job to everyone for the stellar times!

I had a good ride overall. I was on target for getting my original goal time, and then picked up a thorn on steriods at Wellington! cursing.gif And then i lost some time when my first bomb went off early and my 2nd bomb didn't want to work properly. Fortunately a guy in E on a mtb stopped to help me! Thank you, you are awesome! clap.gif thumbup1.gif Ended up with a 3:31. Lots of fun working for that time!

I saw Many Lemons and the cousins. And then a couple of hubbers in the beer tent!

Well, that was fun :)

Anyone know if someone got seriously hurt in that pile-up 10km from the end in A group? Saw some pretty bad crashes into the guys lying on the ground. Looked like it hurt a lot.

i was just ahead like 2 or 3 guys. Sounded bad, we tried warning the guys for the Kombi.

i did a 2.52 from D , lost my legs in the last 10 k's and limped home. too busy organising than riding races this year and i'm feeling it.

to all the father's letting their young sons race the 92 k's , rather let them ride the short event (esp when one is available) and have them race good quality miles. i have an article from the British Cycling Fed giving advice to parents with aspiring young cyclists. pm me if you want to read it.

Well done on finishing!!! This happened right next to me. The first chap who went down was taking a drink from his waterbottle when he got his wheel taken out and he ended up hanging on me trying to recover before the bike went violently left and he hit the deck. The chap who then took his wheel out swings his head round to see what he has done and tags the wheel in front of him going down hard too and now there's a mass of riders just getting flung over bars and complete carnage all round me. Glad to escape that! Hope you heal up quick LB!!

Thanks. Was my first fall on a bike before, pretty scary. There was certain people who were riding all over the place from start to finish. He was bumping into other riders often. Healing up well, my head took a beating.

You must've been the kid in the Maties kit? really well ridden - impressive to stay out in front for those long turns, towing an old timer like me wink.png builds character!

My son was in a white Craft top. We did spend some time trying to drag a group back into a bigger bunch, but I tried to keep him out of the wind a bit

I agree completely. My boy rides mainly MTB races, where they are limited to 30k events. Problem is that the Argus is a huge issue for him, so Burger is for Argus seeding and he can ride Argus but apart from that we are curtailing distance and climbs.eg. he's only allowed to ride to the mast once a month. This has been a big issue for us. I have spent a fair amount of time researching the issue and trying to ensure that he's not burnt out before he even finishes school.

Thanks... I saw that guy, the one in the CWC kit did the same thing in the Durbanville race. He would sprint to the front of the bunch and then suddenly stop then everyone had to dodge him.

That was not my Intentions. The only time i go up front is when the pace is lacking.

I did some work into the wind at the front in that second A group and it is silly how some guys go screaming past and then die horribly right in front of you... but there are some who do it really smoothly... thumbup1.gif I'm fairly sure, simply cos they are doing it, that they know who they are!! :)

Did the short route and pushed my rider up all the hills. Good work out as we were passing everyone and putting down quite a pace.

But she goes so slowly down all the hills. Not ideal. But it's safer to have a noobie in the short group right at the back than in the long route causing havoc.
