Well regardless of what everybody thinks the maximum pnishment is 2 years so get over it. I think the deathpenalty should be brought back for murder but that just aint in the cards, is it?

Don't see him coming back after 2 years. He is finished and i also do not see him being involved in cycling. Reckon you wont hear much of him in the years to come

Because its not illegal sunshine.......

its not illegal if its prescribed for a medical condition. if it was fraudulantly prescribed its illegal. if it was provided without a prescription thats also illegal.

Come now its not that complicated...

So what is it you want? You want him to go to jail? Please. A little perspective.

I cannot think of a single reason why I would want to

  • enter my cc details on a dodgy website
  • knowingly order drugs without a prescription
  • administer said drugs without medical supervision
  • compete after administering it
  • put my own life at risk

So in short, thanks for the link but I'll be ok without

There seem to be many people in glass houses replying to this topic. Yeah the guy's done wrong, fessed up and is prepared to take the pain. His sentance is neither his responsibility nor his fault. His cycling life is finished and I think that we seem to overlook the consequences of that to someone who made his living through the sport.

Don't get the point. Yes he's confessed and he's got to live with the sentence, so what consequences are we overlooking?

The point is that most of us are sick and tired of cheats / dopers / criminals on the top steps of the podiums and we want to see cycling being a clean and fair sport. The 2 year maximum sentence has been going on for more than a decade and clearly isn't enough of a demotivator for dopers.

Hence the call for greater sentences, I don't see anything wrong with that.

It is illegal to distribute without a prescription. It unethical and illegal to prescribe for wrong or no indication. I doubt that is illegal for the man in the street to actually have in his possesion - no criminal case will follow. Slightly complicated?

He's not a criminal.

It's a good thing internet forums don't set the punishment or the oke would have had both legs amputated and dragged through the streets and then set on fire.

Did I say that? I already said that 2 yrs is the maximum he could have gotten. The supply chain was under discussion - I disagree with the notion that the athelete should be punished but those complicit in providing the drugs are not.
