This whole arguement is just like PowerBalance, where some perceived advantage is supposed to justify a massive price... I can promise you that if someone blindfolds you and lets you ride a "real" Pina, and then a "fake" Pina (that's probably made 500 meters down the road from the "real" Pina factory in China), you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. That's what the brand names try to convince you of, that by putting their sticker on the bike that it magically justifies a price that's 10x more, and that all others will break and kill you. Not so. I'm sure most Hubbers are tired of hearing about my 29er (blank Chinese frame). I've thrown that thing down Bergplaas that made people wonder what was coming past them. Didn't flinch, rock solid.

Brand slut much? Midlife Crisis? Want some bragging rights? Then sure, go and get yourself a R40k frame. I'll be riding right next to you on my R4k frame, and then ride away from you.

The frame above is made in a Dogma mold, with carbon laid in by guys that know what they are doing. On the Chinese sites you can get yourself frames that are clones of Dogmas, Cervelos, latest Specialized's, etc. I'd be damned if I buy a "branded" bike/frame again.

That's like believing that a shirt that says Billabong justifies a price that's 3 times higher than a shirt with no branding on. BOTH are made by a 4 year old Chinese boy in a basement sweatshop of a Chinese restaurant in Guandong Province.

Its called placebo!

I got ripped/nailed with my en my bros bikes, my bro had s-works decals which he ripped ie. "young and stupid" but like i said previously. My bro was torn apart even tho he's bike was stolen. But because the like had paid close to 100k for theirs there was no remorse. Bro's china 29er gets hammered often no issues. My 29er black on black is in the pipeline, en will get hammered.

Wait for it someone will post the link of failed chinese frames. I've got a link of the frames used by Olympic teams en the so call cheap chinese frames dont bother them.

Sweet looking bike that is a super cool blank and probably handles just like the real thing!

But, as others have suggested, why let some con artist decal the blank as a Pinarello and try a sell this as authentic, when it clearly is not? Doubt even you will be excited to buy a car that's advertised and looks like a VW, but has nothing more than badges on and was made at Geely factory as an example...

How on earth do they get that Pina frame to be so close to the original or exactly the same as

I've heard that often its the exact same mold... the guys just do "afterhour" shifts to make money during downtime. Or something like that.

But i see numerous companies making the same product and they are all exactly alike, amazing replicas

Well, imo bike manufacturers had to know this was going to happen when they moved all their production to China. Pina, Bianchi, etc are still charging the same money as they did when the bikes were made in Europe, only now they get a fat profit margin off way cheaper Chinese labour. That paint job on the fake Dogma looks the part. I would guess it was painted by rhe same Chinese guys that paint the real ones.

Toyota made a press statement some years back stating that they were NOT Toyota motors in those cars. GWM are using old tooling from a 1970s Toyota to make their own motors

How much for a decent Dogma replica frame, out of interest?

Just past R4k. Its worth bringing in two frames, like getting one and a mate also getting a frame (29'er, or something if that's what you want). It really helps with shipping and the box they ship the stuff in can take two frames.

Here's my opinion.

Where to start...

Unbranded Dogma clone

FSA clone cranks

Unbranded one-piece carbon bars/stem

MicroShift Aeris Carbon groupset (aparently lighter than Dura Ace)

Mavic Ksyrium wheels

Alligator cabling

Light Weight QR's

YBN top of the range chain

SpeedPlay pedals

Deda tape

Again... What is a "real" Dogma... And superior?l

Probably superior, made with quality Toray carbon. With the fakes you have no idea where it was made and what the quality control is. If you think they come from the same factory using the same carbon then you are mistaken.

Its not true. There are several different fake factories sharing the same fake moulds.

Totally fake boras. Anyone who doesnt know that bora dont have that rear wheel spoke pattern must be really thick to sell them on a public forum.
