slowpoke Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I have to confess to being a wheel sucker. That first stage in the cow suit took it out of me and I was not was well trained as I would have liked, so I simply grabbed the back of bunches for as long as I could before being spat out the back. I was in pure survival mode. Hopefully next year I will be fit enough to do my fair share of work at the front of a bunch or two. scotty 1

Stage 1 - 53km 1:27:52 1:27:52 1:39 36.19 Stage 2 - 48km 2:40:54 1:13:02 1:31 39.44 Stage 3 - 52km 3:43:33 1:02:40 1:12 49.80 Stage 4 - 22km 4:05:51 0:22:19 1:01 59.19

By that point I could no longer sweat... That is what 2 bottles of water poured over a cows' head looks like. Stage 3 almost killed me... No cold water at end stage 2 and no water point on stage 3 was grim. it was all I could do to not climb into that tub that the water bottles were in at the end of stage 3. Does anyone know where I can look for pics? Wez-O 1

Joe Low Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 ................ it was all I could do to not climb into that tub that the water bottles were in at the end of stage 3. You should have done it T; I climbed in a water trough at the end of Stage 2 a couple of years back - it was great.

I will just have to try get there in time to get to my tog bag and pull the Cow suit back on before... ;-) if it is that hot again next year you now know where to find me!
AndreB Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Was a great race. The heat and wind took its toll on stage 2, and stage 3 was a scorcher as well.Stage 4 is great as it had cooled down significantly by then.Hopefully back next year.
